we can still hold out hope that she's planning to release a big ass visual movie sort of thing after she concludes act 3 , tho it's also just as possible whatever visuals existed for any of these projects are scrapped

 

still …. i would find it weird knowing she filmed obviously certain visual components for the CC rollout , after fans had already long speculated that the Renaissance visuals had been scrapped if it wasn't part of a larger narrative/project … we simply have to wait and see

Music videos still matter, I don't care if views are dying on Youtube. The GP won't remember or even identify these eras because they don't have visuals to attach it to. Could there be Thriller without the red jacket? Could there be a Single Ladies without her cameltoe in black and white? A Formation without her in a sombrero tweaking like Nicki? Sure she could be the horse lady, but I dressed up as her in Dress to Impress and no one knew who the hell I was.

To be fair, it does punish folks over the criticism they had about the visuals being used to sell the music over the last decade. Well she went #1 in singles and albums without them.

I would believe it if we didn't have a whole trailer teasing the visuals. Something happened along the way for her to completely cancel it. And that's a shame, especially since this trilogy is shaping up to be something really special. Both CC and Renaissance are incredible albums, it's sad we won't be able to see the visual part of it.

Lol the amount of vitriol in here from people who hate her and would tear any ~vIsUalS apart anyway is crazy. I'm trying to figure out how what she said automatically = the visuals are scrapped? She basically said she wanted the music to breathe on it's own before any visuals. Despite how much everyone is pretending that CC is bad, the album is literally only months old  keep calm. She will likely drop them at some point. And even if she doesn't - again, most of the people saying nasty stuff don't like her or her music anyway so why are you pressed?

Black Is King came out a whole year after its accompanying album, this is not unprecedented for her
