tech Apple's AI is stuck with USA while Samsung & Google provides AI to whole world. Why?

even though Apple's AI is severely behind their competitors with Galaxy AI and Google Gemini stomping on Apple Intelligence on every area possible, Apple still can't even release their AI to the world.

 

why Apple is ALWAYS so behind on these world changing technological upgrades? Why is iPhone 16 still using a 60hz display? Why Apple users outside of USA can't use Apple's half-baked AI features in 2024 - while users of other brands can use it wherever they want, especially when they're more developed and advanced versions of Apple's AI?

Honestly the apple / Android thing isn't interesting. 

 

Apple once made the world's best phones but that was over a decade ago and others have caught up and surpassed. If people wanna stay locked into spending thousands unnecessarily every year to upgrade and keep up with the Joneses, be my guest

you said it yourself - why are they still in beta and way behind their competitors? Apple is teasing Apple Intelligence since the start of this year (which they had to rush after seeing the success of other companies with AI) 2024 is now ending, new iPhones are launched and there are still no actual AI features in iPhones. i'm not even gonna talk about older iPhones not getting the features even though they're clearly capable of it

nnnn the way i knew apple would get back at EU some way or another. the EU is constantly trying to sabotage american / non european brands because there's no massive european brands like apple. all that they made apple go through the last few months were completely out of jealousy

You're right they're behind compared to the competition but Apple usually take their time to get things right instead of just being first out of the gate. The Android AI capabilities are really impressive

to be fair, i've tried samsung ai when the new phones came out because i was curious and it wasn't that mindblowing (not that i think apple intelligence is either lmao). also i'm pretty sure it will be behind a paywall at the end of the year so

it's coming to the UK in December but I'm not upgrading anyway, I still have the 13 Pro Max and it still works great

yes it's mind-blowing, you just haven't used & tested it enough irl. "Visual Intelligence" is just a beyond cheap copy of Circle To Search that I was literally gasping during the keynote yesterday because of how shameless and behind it was  at the same time One UI 6.1.1 update got released yesterday and now in addition to all the AI features people can add whatever they want to their pics with just drawing them.

this excuse is from the past. other companies are now being the first out of the gate but they ALSO get things right. Apple is just late and also not getting the things right, which is not something to be proud of.

my taste in tech is just as alternative as my music taste i fear... we should just understand that not everyone in the world blatantly prefers Apple and their gimmicks and i'm here to show that, the thread is tagged as tech and we're free to discuss these after yesterday's event 🙏🏻

My only problem with it is that it's not available for my iPhone 14 Pro Max but I get that it might not be capable of running it considering how intensive it is

does anyone actually currently use any AI model besides chatgpt? the only time ive seen gemini being talked about was when it got bashed for being incredibly unreliable. The slow rollout is silly for a company that used to be ahead of the curve for sure, but the main draw of apple intelligence is its perceived privacy benefits that the others do not have yet. There's a reason why El*n had a whole meltdown when apple intelligence was announced lol

what is this  yes so many people don't just rely on ChatGPT anymore, it has gotten dumber and dumber over time and it was literally working way better when it was on it's peak. Gemini is my #1 assistant currently, it just works way better than ChatGPT on several occasions and scientifically it's more advanced (and i'm not even talking about paid Gemini tiers here).

That's why I'm not upgrading this year as someone who lives in the EU. In addition, the new titanium dessert is ugly. Basically it's white with some orange tints, that's how it would look in daylight

damn what is that last photo, it's super embarrassing considering yesterday's event was all about AI.

 

Some features were cool though like searching through photos with description and 3rd party integration ,wish I had those in my s24 ultra .

Who cares? Ain't nobody using AI everyday anyway considering it's still pretty unreliable. Even that AI object erasing thing (which I would consider the most useful out of all features excluding photo search) is something that you can easily achieve with one of the many apps out there.

AI is the just the gimmick phone manufacturers are using to justify upgrades since it's getting harder and harder to do it with hardware upgrades only (which are incremental and not particularly groundbreaking anymore), soon the focus will shift on something else mark my words.

okay but no shade nobody except tasteless locals would use that feature to put a fake boat on a picture like... what aesthetic is that pls  and that feature is gonna be locked behind a paywall in 3 months so most users won't even use it pls...

 

for once i'm not even saying apple is better because i seriously couldn't care less about that feature lol but let's be real... you can't even praise samsung's ai because you'll have to pay for it soon. i'm just gonna use chatgpt tbh
