Feanor Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 In many ways, 2024 is mirroring 2016 for her: From the AOTYs, to the controversies, to the ubiquity and the political drama… Are we on the verge of Taylor Swift's downfall? 2

Cheers Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Absolutely not. She is doing this on purpose to prepare for the reputation (tv) release. She's so calculative and well planned it's scary but super impressive. 7
Mtjjproducer Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Hopefully cause I'm sick of both her fans and her haters talking about her 4
Cruel Summer Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I still don't think so. No controversy has actually risen to the fever pitch required to do meaningful, lasting damage to her reputation (pun intended), and the most likely outcome of the political stance situation is that she speaks on the last night of the tour or on voting day. 1

JO1s Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 No she'll play the victim somehow and her cult will go wild. 6 4
Popular Post right where you left me Posted September 9, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 9, 2024 Yes, the slowest downfall ever since 2016. 16

Strawberry Bubble Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 (edited) I mean, the numbers show that her second imperial phase is coming to an end. She'll still have huge numbers, but maybe in one or two years, she won't be the number one in everything (like she was in 2023). However, I don't think people can cancel her like they did back in 2016, nor will her career be over. I bet she'll have a third imperial phase in a few years, too. Storm653 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Not at all. 2016 was a very different time. Taylor's audience is way bigger than it was in 2016 and people actually believed what KimYe said about her back then. Taylor has her haters for sure but she's still selling out stadiums, dominating Billboard(from her old catalog to new), and will dominate again with Rep(TV). And her "controveries" are still mild hence why her snark subs tend to run dry fast. Even the narrative of TTPD being "poorly received" is hilariously exaggerated. That album still is more acclaimed than the OG Reputation and the best selling album this year(even if you remove the variant sales). It's also arguably her most mature album after Folkmore when you really listen to it. 3

technoprayer Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 She can have an artistic downfall, which is already happening since Midnights. For the GP, no. She will fatigue her image as much as she can but will remain popular because her music nowadays is bland and not deep and very appealing for the masses. Bring back 2012 Taylor. 1
Life Savers Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 This is the 6th or maybe 7th piece of news that's going to end her career this year. Some of you just never learn. 1
Bey_Rihstan Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 (edited) dsljdf what controversies? i've seen nothing bad about her recently besides some lyrics going viral when her album dropped. If she didn't get cancelled after that last mongrel of a boyfriend i'd say she's fine Edited September 9, 2024 by Bey_Rihstan
PoisonPill Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Ya'll say/wish this literally every single time there's a minor internet controversy around her. She's the biggest star in the world and is a one-woman global industry, she's not going to be suddenly toppled because a handful of jobless people are having a two-day keyboard tantrum. 2 1
