Green Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Mess, I thought the album was doing good at least in the UK

Her old manager Ben from TAP she had during the FN era (and debut era as well iirc, someone correct me if I'm wrong) She left TAP right before the RO era and hired her flop dad Edited September 6 by ChrisTheLoner
Solaria Posted September 6 Posted September 6 TaP isn't the problem at all. The songs just didn't connect with the GP. There's not much we could have done about that. In 2020 people still had room for these larger than life general pop hits like DSN and Levitating. Now it's 2024 and we have Sabrina and Chappell conquering pop with deadpan Gen Z humor, memeable catchphrases and nihilism. Dua's music is the complete opposite of that. It just wasn't in the cards for her to have a succesful 3rd album in this musical climate. It's whatever!
kellebrity98 Posted September 7 Posted September 7 (edited) it's time to call Calvin Harris or Martin Garrix Edited September 7 by kellebrity98

Truth Teller Posted September 7 Posted September 7 The UK chart still excludes the top 3 most played songs from the album units, right? So, this is without Houdini, Training Season and Dance The Night. If so, it's relying on Illusion (a bomb) and 8 album tracks to keep it afloat, which... yeah. It's still strange that her name and Glasto couldn't at least keep it in the lower region of the chart until the end of the year, but I think this is just a reflection of releasing a short and mediocre album. People just didn't go back to this

It should be studied how she managed to go from the biggest female album of the decade to one of the biggest follow up bombs ever. Congratz Dukagjin and Kevin Parker #Justice For TAP She can always model. Music career is over I fear, unless she jumps on some DJ collabs. 1
Yes, AND Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Stans blaming Kevin PArker for this are so delusional. 1

People just didn't go back to this It doesnt exclude. It takes an average. Also these rules have been in place for a long long time, so it is not really an excuse. The rules are the same for everyone so no point trying to say Dua would be performing in such and such a way if the rules were different. Also is Dance the night on the album now ? I said that if the chart excludes the 3 most played songs don't count (or are weighed way down, as it turns out) it doesn't surprise me that much that the album can't chart off of the 9 remaining songs that I know no one is streaming
bluesooul Posted September 7 Posted September 7 The album it's just not all at. The only thing that could save the era is a deluxe with better tracks + release one of those as a single. 1

And again, that is the same for EVERY album. So it's a moot point.
