Flanders Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Disregarding this nobody, I do feel like it's kind of a copout of Lady Gaga to say that when she does interviews, it's a performance, so anything she says is just that and not to be criticised in any serious manner.. like.. maybe don't do interviews then hun 1
Mikeymoonshine Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Sooo looking up those quotes multiple news sources reported them but they all cite an interview that doesn't contain them. Where they removed from the interview or did one outlet falsely report and then all the others lazily copied them. The latter explanation may seem ridiculous but journalists actually do this a lot and lazily repeat false info without checking sources. However I don't think times of Israel was actually the first to report those quotes NME's article was posted a day before.
Erreur2 La Nature Posted September 6 Posted September 6 What does Spears have to do with this and why is this stupid thread still open 1

That's an important factor here And yet in 2024 Tyler Oakley has clearly educated himself and has been talking about the genocide nonstop + donating + fundraising millions to Gaza relief with other online creators. What has Lady Gaga - who objectively has a bigger platform and more money - said or done? Crickets. And one of those quotes was real. Stop gaslighting everyone. I hate people weaponizing a ******* genocide for stan arguments like this but you Liddos make it hard. You literally can't have a nuanced conversation when it comes to this because you think she's immune to criticism. Tyler Oakley is still a fan of her and was stanning some months ago when she did that Fortnite concert, and so am I. But let's call a spade a spade. 3 1 3

The quote was part of her interview with The Independent in Sept 2014 (she was promoting Cheek To Cheek iirc) and got removed a while later. Billboard, Times of Israel, and other publications already copied them by that time. 1

As you can see from my comment I listed it being removed from the interview as a possibility but I've seen no evidence either way and you didn't provide any in your reply.

Jacobdaniel Posted September 6 Posted September 6 yawn. he's just dragging for cheap social media engagement points. he doesn't truly care about the issue 1 1

I mean she performed there hence the quote that may have been removed. This doesn't seem too unlikely of a thing for her to say especially during the heat of a concert
hallucinate Posted September 6 Posted September 6 i'm sorry but the thread title is making me scream dhdhdhddh

Well yes, because it was removed as I told you. Why would Billboard and the others cite them as a source. I still remember it too well since it caused so much noise among her Arab fans because her tone deaf comments happened at a time when Gazans were facing some of the worst violence in ages. Absolutely no one else gave a **** because it was not a "hot topic" at the time in the West.

I'm simply not sure if that's the case, it's also possible it was a mistake made by a journalist and repeated by others. That has happened before for example multiple news sources reported the supposed trans backlash against Aretha's natural woman which was made up by a single Conservative parody account. 5 minutes ago, State of Grace. said: Well yes, because it was removed as I told you. I have not defended Gaga performing in Israel or her silence on the matter even today. I've simply said I can't find a source for that quote and idk how to tell if the article was edited to remove it or not. So idk why you chose to respond to me at all. We don't need to take your word for it when there should be ways to find the original article surely?

Like...I don't even like this ****** but what have YOU and YOUR faves done if this is nothing?

Kelly during this time that she was on a mission to side with "misunderstood" entities haha, but anyways yes hard to tell given how Israel is a known liar. There is also a video of her saying shalom to her Israeli fans and saying she's excited to perform there but unclear if she specifically said anything specifically defending Israel 1

I'm not saying you defended her performing there and I know your stance already from other threads sis. I'm not telling yall to "take my word" (when countless others recall her saying it) because I truly don't care if Liddos believe it or not at the end of the day. They are already deluding themselves into thinking that she's an angel who does no wrong. The original article is here. The quote was removed after already being reported and copied by other publications like Billboard. Why would the latter lie about this thing specifically?
