50thStateofMind Posted September 5 Posted September 5 was NOT expecting a female, but she kinda serves 2
Popboi. Posted September 5 Posted September 5 That's a very bold reinvention, props to them for the risk. She sounds fantastic 1
Onyxmage Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Her poor throat. but lol at her constantly putting the mic out into the audience. 1
Pandora30012 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Well.. i dont know. She has a nice voice when she's just singing, but she's overdoing the rasp it sounds unpleasant and painful
Buffy Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Ummm this is weird. She doesn't seem right. They should've picked a more feminine, higher pitched voice if they wanted a woman. She sounds too butch and not in a good way. 1 2 2 4
YoungDreamer Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Lovatics probably know Emily from her feature (as the Dead Sara's vocalist) on HELP ME, from Demi's album HOLY **** 3 1

BrokenMachine Posted September 6 Posted September 6 I was hoping for the new vocalist to be way too different from Chester so there was no point in comparing. It's a good surprise that the new vocalist is a woman. From what I'm seeing she sounds decent... but her voice was already giving up on The Catalyst She's fine, but her screamo doesn't sound that healthy, and if she's struggling with just one concert, I wonder how she's gonna handle it if they end up in a full tour by next year 1
SpaceOddity Posted September 6 Posted September 6 She'll probably get better throughout the tour once she's more comfortable with the band, the songs etc.
Anthinos Posted September 6 Posted September 6 She sounds great. I was never a big LP fan but I find this change interesting.
Happylittlepunk Posted September 6 Posted September 6 It's going to take a while to get used to it. It's different for sure. I still think nobody regardless man or woman will ever top Chester. That man voice was truly perfect for rock music. 2
J-esper Posted September 6 Posted September 6 For now I thinn I am out. LP is my fav. band actually. Chester's voice was one of the defining voices for me while growing up. As much as I love the rest of the og bandmembers, for now I can't connect with her. She is Def. Not bad but even with the new single it won't click for me. I wish them the best. 6

I feel the same, my uncle gave me his burned CD of Hybrid Theory when I was 5 and I had been through similar things so i really resonated with Chester, i hope the band does well but I won't listen to them without the person i saw as the heart of the band 5
