To be clear, that is not the artwork right? Pls say no

Excited as long as the material is fleshed out and ambitious like A Touch Of The Beat. With Love From was lazy and dull.

echoing this tbh :giraffe: a few songs on With Love From were cute, but yeah another full project like the flawless A Touch of the Beat… would be PHENOMENAL and I just know they could pull it off :gaymuscat:

I get how they feel about it and in no way are they required to ever go back to that sound since they don't feel like it, but they did synthpop SO masterfully. They're have an incredible knack for pop melodies. It's kind of a shame we didn't get another full upbeat project after We Don't Stop before A Touch which I also love.

did they say something about it that hinted that it wasn't the right fit for them or something? :ryan2:

god yeah, it's just such good vibes every time they go for that sound for sure. Lost Cause is lowkey one of my fav pop songs of all time :clap3:

They've stated multiple times that they won't go back to synthpop and feel much more at home with the pseudo-americana/alternative/live sound as it feels like something they'll be proud to sing for years to come.

oh 🫠 it's kinda ironic how A Touch of the Beat… is feeling like it's aging better in that case but fair. I'm sure they can make something great with the americana sound eh

that americana sound is so drab i guess i'll have to stick to pretty places replayage

The artwork slays omg :clap3: I'm hoping for something a little bit more upbeat than WFL given that I deemed it to be a huge disappointment and such a big step-down from ATOTB quality wise to the point where I don't have a single song saved (and I've been stanning them since 2007 so that's really saying something :rip: )

i mean it kinda sucks bc i understand that's the music they want to make and feels authentic to them but they HAVE to know their fans are not here for that sound :rip: they worked so hard to rebuild a fanbase with Ten Years & ATOTB and now they're gonna lose all that goodwill if they keep releasing boring americana stuff. i think ATOTB married both styles so perfectly, they need to stick to that

i'm gonna need them to serve an album full of Ten Years tracks again...

That title isn't promising. Sounds like more boring Americana Pop ala With Love From. I hope Chappell re inspires them to go back to synth pop and realize there's artistic integrity and merit in that kind of music. You should be proud to play the kind of music your fans want to hear from you. I'm honestly more excited for the lost record later this year than I am this…

I consider We Don't Stop a full-fledged studio album from them.

That title is a bit odd but I'm excited! I actually really like With Love From, but it might be because I am a big fan of folk music already. Can't wait to listen.

Can you change the music news tag to album tag? Or is there already a thread for the album?

I'm excited :clap3: They kind of lost me with With Love From too but I'll always make time for these queens.

I don't know the exact release date yet so that's why I tagged this thread as "Music News", I'll update once they announce the release date!

Since an album a la Ten Years not Sanctuary is never going to happen (which I’m okay with considering I love literally everything they’ve done) my dream would be an album full of Symptom of Your Touch/Pretty Places. Symptom kind of perfectly blends synth with electric guitars, and Pretty Places is pseudo-Americana done right. I have very high hopes for this, especially taking into consideration the four songs they’ve performed live already :jamming:

My queens never disappoint :sats:

ATOTB was prob my fav album of 2021 and their post return music was once flawless but they kinda lost me with their last album.

that being said i'm still perched and tuned in :clownny:
