narid Posted September 4 Posted September 4 JFAD has had a mixed reception in Venice, with critics noting that Gaga "has a completely blank facial expression" even during musical numbers. With her performance previously hyped as a Oscar frontrunner, this raises the question: What are Gaga's chances of a Oscar nom when the film and her performance have been reviewed as mid? Does she still have a shot? 1 1 28
Human Fly Posted September 4 Posted September 4 why are u trying it? all of your latest posts are attacking gaga for no reason
Dom Posted September 4 Posted September 4 She was fantastic in HOG and did not get a nom. After these reviews I would say at best Globe nom and thats it.
Vegvisir Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Get a job OP The only thing getting unanimous acclaim about J:FAD is Gaga's performance. Joaquin nabbed his first lead Oscar for Joker even though it had a similar critic response. She literally just got a 12 min standing ovation for her role. 5
A-V-XYZ Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Joaquin won an Oscar even though the reviews for The Joker were mixed. Same could happen for Gaga. 1

Doctor Dick Posted September 4 Posted September 4 I would love for her to get a nom but even when she doesn't it will only make her work even harder which ultimately will give her both a nom and a win and cause you and your fellow haters to meltdown
Vegvisir Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Just now, narid said: Everyone does babe. Almodover had 18 minutes. Almodóvar*, and yeah... what about it? He's an accomplished filmmaker with 2 Oscars. 1
Smarticle Posted September 4 Posted September 4 She's not getting a nom, you're right ATRL user narid. You can smile and live happily now without fuming over her every move 3

Loca Posted September 4 Posted September 4 It's still possible, given the weakness of this race. It will all depend on the box office and the industry's reception, just like it did for the previous film.
Antisocialites Posted September 4 Posted September 4 I think she only has chances in the supporting category.
shyboi Posted September 4 Posted September 4 The praise alone should grant her a nom, I remember the reception for Blonde was terrible and Ana still got the nom AWARDS SEASON 2025 IS OURS 4 3

Archetype Posted September 4 Posted September 4 1 hour ago, shyboi said: I remember the reception for Blonde was terrible and Ana still got the nom Omg I completely forgot about that Yea it doesn't really matter how good or bad the film is at this point, she bodied her role based on the reviews. GP reception and box office numbers will probably determine if she gets a nom or not.
UnusualBoy Posted September 4 Posted September 4 I think she'll get the nom, will she win? We'll have to see who is she against with...
