Katy Perry was over before 143. Lady Gaga was striving for film success and she blew it bigtime. Far more damaging, imo. Gaga had more to lose. 8 1

The best part of that entire film was Joaquin telling GaGa to stop singing. Couldn't relate more." This pretty much confirms that DWAS would indeed be even bigger if she wasn't on it. 1 5

Capris Groove Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Wait, it has a lower score than Katy Perry's last album? 1 2
Riverbank Posted October 5 Posted October 5 We're talking about a $200M production that resulted in exhorbitant financial losses and the most brutal reviews and media coverage in years. And it's even worse when you take into consideration the fact that this was supposed to be a highly anticipated sequel to a $1B grossing blockbuster. This is a Titanic sized disaster for everyone involved. 143 was just the submarine 14
psychodiva336 Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Fandom wars and dumb and meaningless critic scores aside - I enjoyed Joker: Folie a Deux. I just got back from the movie theater an hour ago and I had a very good time. I agree, the constant musical interruptions were lowkey hilarious and definitely sucked a lot of tension out of the movie, BUT the story itself had me intrigued for the full 2 hours. I appreciated the deep dive into Arthur's mind, Lee's unclear motives and the overall atmosphere the movie had. I don't really understand the panning. But I guess, as was the case with 143, everyone loves to have their little "I'm a critic!" moment at the end of the day. Also, not gonna lie... Seeing Little Monsters getting served a piece of humble pie is sooo much fun 2
Starkboy Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I NEVER expected this to happen after how big and loved by the audience Joker was.
NoAngelus Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I never watched Joker and never plan to, but I absolutely hated seeing all those videos and gifs from the movie, especially on the stairs, that overacting made me cringe so hard so I am happy franchise is now tainted and all those people worshipping Joker, having his pic on social media, wearing merch and thinking they are cool won't be doing it anymore. 1
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Just finished watching. Whoever wrote the screenplay should never be hired by anyone. Gaga was the only good thing about it.

Apparently neither did Warner Bros or the Little Monsters. They all bet they would have a hit, acclaim and the GP based on the previous one and Gaga can leech off the hype but alas no. They made it into a musical and used her to reinforce that but it backfired. You would think her "star power" would take any project over 50M, even more so a well established one. 4
Capris Groove Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Imagine how ridiculous this release feels now? Being tied to an infamously panned flop film... She surely needs that life jacket. 3

Doctor Dick Posted October 5 Posted October 5 At least GAGA'S Die With A Smile is a #1 smash. Queen of being #1 in both music and movies, not everyone has that. 1 3

I like how she has highs and lows both in music and film career. This movie will serve artpop and people will appreciate it a lot more in 10 years. It was really nice movie actually, this rt score just represents straight people who hate musicals + they didnt like the ending.
