So many artists have had huge scandals worthy of them being cancelled and then released good ass music and the entire world forgave them. The Joker flopped. So be it. ashley Simpson never recovered after her SNL scandal, Xtina never recovered after the Bionic fiasco, Chris brown never had another hit after beating Rihanna. Katy killed her own career with her image change.  The only one that was able to recover is Mariah after glitter and even that took 5 years.
as I said, Gaga still has people supporting her music so she needs strong material. Her movie career on the other hand…. Two out of three bombed.  Idk who else is gonna hire her after this.  Shes box office poison at this point

Gaga is a Best Actress nominee. She can always land some type of role if she really wants it. HOG did not bomb.

Those situations were entirely different. JFAD is a movie, and Gaga is not being blamed for it's underperformance. In fact her lack of screen time has been heavily touted as one of the reason's behind the film's underperformance and a lot of the critics took issue with it also.

 

There's also things in your post that are just straight up false. HOG did not "bomb" by any means, it wasn't even a flop. It was the highest-grossing non-action drama film of the pandemic era during a time when all other drama movies were straight up bombing. She was nominated for many awards and was nominated for every Oscar precursor. The fact that she didn't get an Oscar nom and because the film overall had mixed reviews, people try to rewrite history and claim the film was a panned bomb when that's just not the case

 

And who lied to you and told you that Chris Brown never had a hit after he beat Rihanna? He has had several hit songs since then, his career absolutely did recover. But I also have no idea what he has to do with Gaga as the situations could not be more different.

But Gaga is actually #1 for 52 consecutive days at this very moment....and she had a flop movie (which she's not being blamed for), no scandals or anything. The album flopped? Well it's a fckn jazz album with covers, and she never had big numbers with these projects. The only people "trying to trash her image" is another specific fan base.

And you're SO WRONG about Chris Brown. He had hits after that, and he's selling out stadiums in 2024.

It's not like Gaga is immune to flop...but you make it seem like she's hitting rock bottom right now lol

Joaquin's last 3 movies before FAD all bombed, Napoleon literally lost $165 million. Movies bombing are the not same as albums/singles bombing. HOG did 2x it's budget and was the biggest drama of the pandemic. Actors don't get effected by the poor decisions of writers/producers/directors.

Joaquin is an Oscar winning, established and well respected actor in Hollywood. Gaga is just starting out. Having your third major film bomb this badly both critically and commercially is not a good lewk.
