Lady Gaga announces LG7 lead coming in October; album February 2025

As a fan I'm always excited for a new Gaga material (I even stream the official Joker 2 soundtrack even though it's not a solo Gaga project). But...

With all the negativity coming from JFAD, I'm thinking her team decided to delay the release of LG7 and I believe it's the best thing they can do. Not to mention Harlequin killed the hype of Gaga releasing another studio album.

Her team needs to build another hype before releasing anything LG7 related if they are aiming for another successful era. But if it's art they care more about than the bling, then so be it. I'll be supporting no matter what.

Do we know what genre of music the lead single/album is going to be? Please don't be country/folk/jazz!

Can't wait!

there's basically no doubt that this will be a "darker" electronic pop record, based on the snippets.

I'll never understand this thought process. People don't lose interest in a lead single for an album from an established artist who hasn't put out original material for 4 years just because they released some covers album for a random movie. The floppage of Joker, which is essentially just a movie, should have no connection to Gaga's original music and LG7. Them pushing this back would look embarrassing and definitely very "charts NOT the arts" of her.

She needs to move like Joker never happened (because it didn't and the GP wouldn't know the difference) and continue with the LG7 role out. Why should her music career suffer just because her acting career took a little hit. They're not the same.

She said In an interview that her husband was responsible for making the album a pop record

She filmed the MV last week apparently. There was some tea on that

This def coming on Oct 25. Hopefully album pre-order early Nov already so she can boost her sales as much as possible - and multiple variants too. Thinking about 7 for the CD, other 7 for vinyl + boxsets, cassettes and etc.

Harlequin suffered a lot for not having physicals delivered in time and this can't happen with LG7, Bobby needs to work

Unfortunately the disastrous outcome of both the movie and the album has put a bit of a dent in Gaga's public image. And lbr it doesn't help that her last hit was three years ago. I agree that LG7 shouldn't be tied to Joker, sadly verything Gaga does from now on will be linked to this flop. I mean, if the film had been a hit, a lot of the credit would have gone to her, right? Well, it works the same way in reverse. I'm crossing my fingers that the LG7 material is strong enough to pull Gaga out of this slump because if it's not, it's just going to add fuel to the scrutiny she's already facing.

The three of you confused by this are stupid af :dies: y'all need to remember that the majority of people aren't chronically online ATRLers with an obsession with pop culture. People who listen to music at most know that Gaga's recent song with Bruno is a smash hit. The GP checking for Gaga's music likely have no idea about her Joker album and they certainly have no idea it flopped nor would any normal person care enough to not listen to the LG7 lead just because the cover album didn't perform well commercially. Some of you seriously need a reality check because most people don't give a **** about charts like y'all do and it certainly doesn't so significantly influence what they're willing to listen to.

This is called catastrophizing. If the LG7 music is good, people will listen to it. If it's not good and not in the vein of what the GP wants from THE Lady Gaga (for example, covers of jazz music :dies:), people won't listen. It's that simple.

So many artists have had huge scandals worthy of them being cancelled and then released good ass music and the entire world forgave them. The Joker flopped. So be it. It's simply a non-event to most people. I feel like y'all yap on about this on purpose so that if LG7 flops, you can blame it on the failure of The Joker. Relax, people. :gaycat6:
