Can you chill? I'm 100% this decision was not made solely by Chappell Roan, since she's not a self-managed indie artist, but a big mainstream artist with a lot of potential to take over the pop market. She's the same label as Sabrina's and Island Records is NOT playing with profit this year. Both are getting major push after opening to two of the biggest pop stars of this decade. How Chappell Roan personally feels about fame is irrelevant in comparison to how much money she's been making recently to other people that call the cards. The shows will be rescheduled and most fans will be ok and overcome that. It's a business and it's about money. We're old enough to see beyond the image Chappell wants to pass (since it's based on authenticity), so let's not. We all know she's working overtime to keep her momentum Edited September 3 by liquiddiamonds 1

Orsay Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I feel like if anyone can revive the VMAs and give a stellar performance rn, it's her hope she kills it 1
Starchild Posted September 3 Posted September 3 1 hour ago, Vegvisir said: The glee some of you are displaying now that ya'll FINALLY have something to drag Chappell for is so corny and embarrassing, especially since it's just a couple cancelled dates for a major tv performance Now this is an absolute bold faced lie and you know it sis It's always "the gays are SO MAD!!" but just for y'all's faves right? I know you're not going to answer anything related to the actual topic so idk why I'm even trying, did you absorb anything other than "a Chappelle hater!!1"? Taylor wise, didn't y'all make daily threads that reached 30 pages just a couple of weeks back and for a good 2 years now? Cause you're here talking about "HatErS!!!" then immediately write that last dumb sentence I listened to Chapelle years ago, I've never shaded her on here until recently because yes what I said above is true, y'all can pretend it's not the real world but it is, she's a rich spoiled artist, everybody changes in the industry but some (like Chappelle, Adele (since her recent obtuse commentary about "working hard") become way more jaded than others TLDR for y'all: Chapelle deserves as many lashings as any other artist that chases fame like she has for 10 years then proceeds to insult everyone and everything around her that she seems to find beneath her now that she's part of the rich 1 4

I doubt they asked her to be on last week. She could at least given more notice for people to cancel their plans. She's been famous for 2 weeks. It was definitely a last minute thing. 1

Digitalism Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I am gay and old enough to know that people don't care about this and are looking for excuses to hate her. 2 3
jeffersonairplanes19 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 why are people acting like this was something her and her team were trying to keep secret they literally said she had to cancel because of scheduling conflicts which is what the VMAs are. She had something scheduled then the VMAs moved their date up so they were now scheduled at the same time has her other plans....hence a conflict in the schedule. 1
ShadeIena Posted September 3 Posted September 3 She cancelled them because she realized she can actually charge more now that she became popular. Some seats were $20
CottageHore Posted September 3 Posted September 3 (edited) I get why the fans who bought tix to her cancelled shows are upset, but the rest of y'all… you're just hopping on the hate train like you do for any female artist who's on the rise. Chappell has never booked a TV slot like the VMAs and I'm almost certain most of y'all will be switching when her performance becomes the most talked about performance of the night. We haven't had a performer with so much public interest on the VMAs for years, Chappell is doing what needs to be done Edited September 3 by CottageHore 1
