If she cancelled her shows to attend VMAs don't be surprised if she'll do similar things in the future. She just showed what is more imporant for her (fame etc.)

2009 was the last year the VMAs were a deal, so she's late to the party, unless she pulls a Miley.

I understand her decision but she should have just been upfront about it rather than putting out that vague statement about 'scheduling conflicts'

I feel like we would all cancel shows for the opportunity to perform at the VMAs for the first time. If she refused the invitation she might have never been invited again.
