Kukai Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) If anything, it requires a degree of mental agility and mental dexterity, that most homosexuals on atrl lack, to switch faves We shouldn't be critical of people changing faves if anything it should be praised. If we blindly support our fave's work even if it's awful we become complicit in the celebration of bad art We don't want to support bad ART or POP music now do we? The skillset to be able to switch faves and be critical of your former faves should be a staple of the atrl cv of any gays on here Otherwise we would not have a dynamic art community on any online forum is all I'm saying Edited September 2 by Kukai 3
Wicked Posted September 2 Posted September 2 "Changing faves" instead of just appreciating music and liking multiple artists is weird behavior. It's bandwagoning lol Why would your favorite artist change 11 1

Spicy Pisces Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Come and join the liddo community Miss Kukai I dare you, you already lurk there every day anyway 10
ChooseyLover Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) That mentality is giving chart obsessed person that can only "stan" currently successful artists. I have memories attached to my favourite artist and their music, I don't know why I'd have to get rid of them because I don't like what they do now/don't sell as much as they used to. For instance, I don't call Britney my "fave" lightly. She means so much to me. Edited September 2 by ChooseyLover 4 1
Aston Martin Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Changing faves in and of itself is usually a benign practice. However, it tends to arouse suspicion when a fave change coincides with one's current fave serving OUT-OUT-OUT or when stanning one's new fave seems to only come up when hating on another artist. Now I have no personal experience engaging in either of these situations, but I have seen others partake in such behaviors and it does seem to reek of desperation 9
Katamari Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Because some ppl do it to drag other pop stars because their real favs lack the stats or is a national embarrassment 3 1

Totami Legend Posted September 2 Posted September 2 finding "the one" artist it's not easy, we should be allowed to experiment in music as in love relationships.

I don't have a new favorite replacing him, cause I like multiple people simultaneously, some more than others. Kanye (my favorite artist of the century) started dropping bad music (among other things) and I don't check for his new albums like that... Doesn't mean his music from TCD to Yeezus no longer hold value to me. Y'all be swapping your "faves" because they release bad music, why does that disqualify their good music? or are you doing it so you can stay in modern pop music conversations?
MonsterNavy Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) the way the sabrina autoplay bandwagoners are quiet now since Gaga is demolishing her on spotify is very telling nothing wrong with stanning or appreciating new artists but yall just love success stanning new pop girls to hide and use them to drag other popstars since yall cant use your dusty ass faves anymore Edited September 2 by MonsterNavy 1
KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 2 Posted September 2 idk. unfortunately this site is full of people who have weird one-sided vendettas against each other. I feel like you should be able to like whatever artist you want to like. its sad some people believe you can only support one artist and thats it. no other music you can support or be a fan of otherwise you're "bandwagoning" or "fake" or whatever other crap they say 1
Paddy Posted September 2 Posted September 2 I'm stanning my faves even if they are having a bad era or two. Afterall I spent a lot of time with them, their music was background to my life events, memories, live tours that I have seen them perform at etc.. not switching all of that just because I don't like what music they are making. I can still appreciate it and it's my choice to listen to it or not. Also I have many favs so I'm never bored anyways.... don't feel the urge to be trainhopping. 1
єѕℓαм Posted September 2 Posted September 2 It's so hilarious to me how some OGHs start fake stanning certain artists that are popping in that moment (Bradley, Glenn Close, OneRepublic & now Sabrina lmao) whenever Gaga releases new music or a movie then become really quiet when Gaga starts winning (which is every single time)
Namiskine Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Enjoying multiple artists is a normal thing to do. Hating on a single artist your whole life and pretending to like others only when they are current competition to that artist you hate is a mental disease. Hope you'll get better

Let's not play quasi-psychologist here when obsessively 'stanning' one artist and living vicariously through them could equally be considered a mental disease.
