byzantium Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Generally making an absolute rule will create absurd results. I think the big key is who you are performing to. If you perform in front of a big crowd like any other county, it's fine. It changes when you accept large sums of money to perform for a select crowd.
Into The Void Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) I think it's fine as long as it's for fans. Fans shouldn't have to pay for acts of government. This is acceptable Edited September 2 by Into The Void

family.guy123 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 What exactly are "western values"? Genocide and slavery? Why are we putting western artists on a pedestal? 2
dussel_06 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 It's a win-lose situation. Fans get to enjoy to see their favorite artists. Meanwhile, in case of eras tour, the government will benefit for a big boost of the economy and tourism 1
Sergi91 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 The performative activist are very selective on where it's ok to perform and where they will have a tantrum. All countries are corrupt and have dirty politicians. In theory there should not be concerts anywhere anymore. 1
TouchinFree Posted September 3 Posted September 3 People want to live their lives. Who are we to judge and cast out based on beliefs and political agendas? It's not like we don't have these inequalities in the west here. One thing I'd learnt is that discrimination exists within every society regardless of how modern and open their political direction is.
