Lagerfeld Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) Both songs have a strong retro vibe, especially with Valerie's Motown-inspired arrangement. Similarly, both Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga are known for incorporating vintage styles into their music. Which song is better? Edited September 2 by Lagerfeld
playboi Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Valerie was made at the peak of Amy's artistry Die was made to pay off bruno's debts 3
jdanton2 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) both are good but i will go with Die With A Smile . by the way Bruno did a cover of the song as part of a Amy tribute several years ago. Edited September 2 by jdanton2 2
Shimenawa Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) Valerie is nice but it's a cover, not an original song so the comparison is a bit random Edited September 2 by Shimenawa

Rino Posted September 2 Posted September 2 you know Bruno and Gaga cooked up a classic when OGHs put it against thee Valerie 1
aesthetic bih Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Amy. Also let the legend rest in peace. This comparison is disrespectful. 3
JoeAg Posted September 2 Posted September 2 I hate to make it look like recency bias is getting the best of me but Valerie has genuinely always been so overrated lol Valerie is nice, and Amy made it her OWN, just like she did with most of her fantastic covers! but when it's stacked up against a discography containing You Sent Me Flying / Cherry, Know You Now, I Heard Love Is Blind, In My Bed, Take the Box, Amy Amy Amy, You Know I'm No Good, Me and Mr. Jones, Back to Black, Love Is a Losing Game, Wake Up Alone, and He Can Only Hold Her… well… yeah. it's not nearly as remarkable as any of those songs tbh Amy's my queen, her legacy remains FOREVER, and as a fellow jewish singer I look up to her endlessly for me, Die with a Smile is the better song
Blue Monday Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Valerie is in a whole other league let's just say that 1
awong918 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) Well, I would only listen to 1 of the 2 and it's not the Valerie cover. I do like the original, however. Edited September 2 by awong918
Ethereaaal Posted September 2 Posted September 2 The fact that this comparison came sooner than DWAS vs Shallow. So random.
EnigmaticAndroid Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Weird comparison, but Valerie is an all-timer for me
