Do you delete bonus tracks that aren't original songs?

For example:

Those filler voice memos on 1989 I deleted them from my playlist with a fastness should have had some of the 1989 vault tracks in it's place. I also don't see the purpose of club remixes or remixes at all unless they're like a Mariah remix.

I have never listened to those voice memos not once not even when it came out in 2014. Don't see the purpose

If a deluxe has a remix or a live version of a song, I remove it.

The only exception I can think of is on Joanne (I'm a huge Joanne stan). There's a work tape version of Angel Down that I like much, much more than the studio version, so I kept the work version and deleted the album version.

Yes, if it's something I will truly never listen to, like that 30-minute field recording of a marsh at the end of Neko Case's Middle Cyclone :skull:

I usually keep remixes though, even if I think the original mix is better. I love the remix of Smile at the end of Lily Allen's Alright, Still

I love remixes

I think every album track should get at least 3. I love how Kylie deluxes often give you a bazillion of them.

Bonus tracks are fun, I actually buy physical CDs that include bonus tracks. A lot of them can't be streamed online.

I find most tacked on remixes from current artists to usually be reductive to the original song and something to gather streams. Many literally just have their teams slap on a new instrumental to fit a vibe and don't even label who remixed it, its ridiculous.

With older albums I'm happy to listen to them and see if I like them. If its Freemasons, David Morales, Thunderpuss, Sunship or Junior Vasquez I'll always be seated.

Do artists even know when those type of remixes are added to the tracklist?

I have no idea but integrity-wise I see it as really tacky and desperate.

Yes I do. I also Put B-Sides from Singles to the Main Album. In the 00s it was Common to Release b-sides but Now they are gone.

If it's a remix yeah I'll skip it/take it off the queue. It's annoying having BTW (deluxe) or TFM on shuffle because one of the 5 remixes will start from BTW or that loud ass Bad Romance remix (on Apple Music) and I don't want to go to the queue to remove it because it'll spoil the upcoming songs lol

There are artists like Britney whose bonus tracks are career highlights. Then we have other artists that release as bonus tracks their most fillerish garbage that we could see why it wasn't part of the standard to begin with :gaycatney2:I love some albums but god knows I'd buy the standard version over the deluxe.

I don't use remixes unless I like them but yeah I almost always skip them too.

Yes, I hate it when remixes are put on a deluxe edition. But I go as far as deleting original songs on tracklists and replacing them with vault songs.

On Fifth Harmony's 7/27 for example I deleted Gonna Get Better, Scared of Happy and Dope while I replaced them with Big Bad Wolf, 1000 Hands, All Again and Voicemail.

On ARTPOP I deleted Dope and Swine and replaced Aura with its demo version. Do What U Want got added back on.

Well since I stream all my music now no I just skip.

But when I used iTunes music library I did keep them just in case I ever wanted to listen to them, but never did once lol.

I also think it's so lazy when the "deluxe" version of an album is just the addition of remixes or reworked versions of the album tracks. A deluxe should include at least some new original tracks.

Sometimes I delete bonus tracks that are original songs too. It depends on how much I like the artist. If I'm a big fan of the artist then yes I use the deluxe versions with all the bonus tracks and remixes etc. If it's an artist that I listen to but I'm not a huge fan of, then I prefer to use the standard version of the album.
