AvadaKedavra Posted August 31 Posted August 31 I've noticed that baggy clothing and 2000s-style outfits are very trendy right now with late Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Wide-leg pants and accessories are making a comeback or already very popular But even though I'm a child of the 90s and 2000s and wore all that as a pre-teen-kid, I don't feel it suits me today, lol. i bought some baggy clothing to be trendy and i was feeling absolutely ridiculous I'm still into my slim-skinny jeans and that the early 2010s style-tumbrl-polaroid one you know Slim and Skinny Jeans / Graphic Tees / Layering with shirts, jackets, and hoodies / Leather and Denim Jackets / Tailored Slim-Fit Suits / Chinos and Joggers / Sneakers and Chelsea Boots / Beanies and Baseball Caps / Ray-Ban Sunglasses / Beanies / Watches and Beaded Bracelets.......... How about you? Do you follow the current fashion trends? very y2k renaissance? or do you feel like you're stuck in the 2010s? Or you have your unique fashion sense takin from all eras? My style is a mixture of Sporty-Gothic-Preppy and Streetwear tbh. HERE some styles of the last years 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024 Thanks for your future comments. Sorry for the overly-long post
tjspy Posted August 31 Posted August 31 I like some weirder stuff but I've always hated oversized, from whatever year it might be. It looks awful in big people, it looks awful in small people, it looks as okay as literally anything else in beautifully privilleged people. 3
helpthomas Posted August 31 Posted August 31 i dress like most of the pictures on the yearly mood boards, so yes i guess? but most scandinavian people my age dress like this because we're very sensitive to trends and very fashionable people. but i've been wearing the tight top baggy bottom silhouette for a while tbh, it suits my frame the most
shookspeare Posted August 31 Posted August 31 oversized has been the thing for like the last 5 years at least and it's disgusting anyway no I don't, y'all can pry my black skinny jeans from my dead cold hands 1

They look so classy and their clothes look expensive and not fast fashion. I also love to watch the Miami ones cause they have really cool aesthetics for Summer And also South Korean ones. I have the instagram of so many and they always pull really interesting unique looks Cant relate sadly. I dont know how to look hyper-fashionable like so many gays. I sometimes copy-buy fashion from music videos cause i dont have like a good sense of fashion thats my lookbook. Skinny will probably be back in some years

Dolce Vita Posted August 31 Posted August 31 my aesthetic is looking like i stepped out of a 2003 high school movie. i literally just wear baggy jeans, baggy hoodies, vests, football jerseys and jorts/cargo shorts now paired with chunky sneakers

bad guy Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Thank you Billie for ending the skinny jean epidemic and making baggy clothes cool again I don't wear oversized clothes but my pants are always on the looser side and my shirts are maybe one size up. I don't like feeling constricted so tight fit clothes are annoying, it's a sensory thing. Although I do also have shirts that are tighter around my chest/arms for more business casual stuff. And my suits are tailored too (nothing uglier than baggy suits )
trueromance Posted September 1 Posted September 1 i like wearing turtlenecks, trench coats, and chunky loafers. so like… detective core i guess. lmao. i mostly stay away from color, i like 90s minimalism. as for when it's hot out… i kinda give up lol, t-shirts and skinny jeans. i stay aware of trends just as someone with a genuine interest in fashion but i don't really follow them.
dumbsparce Posted September 1 Posted September 1 (edited) Never was and never will. I don't see the appeal in fashion anyway cause I prefer to wear timeless, monochromatic items that mesh well with one another. Also, the examples in the op ... I guess "trends" are catered exclusively to the ig girlies cause I have for sure never seen a topless man with headphones and a towel running errands and going about his day. Imagine being this hollow Edited September 1 by dumbsparce 1
Shendelzare Posted September 1 Posted September 1 no, I pick out the ones that might suit or I find cute and make it work! 1
Sabrina Carpenter Posted September 1 Posted September 1 i always try to wear what's trendy Spoiler i can't believe i used to wear those ripped skinny jeans, they're so fugly
JO1s Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Sort of, I keep up with them to see if anything is interesting and might nitpick but I have my own personal style.
teresaguidice Posted September 1 Posted September 1 (edited) i think adhering too closely to trends without developing any personal style looks pretty silly, especially now that the trend cycles are so rapid. like literally every gay guy in baggy dark denim, cropped tank, loafers with white socks or sambas, and yankees cap becomes very dull. trends obviously do impact what i wear on a macro level though.
