Mandalay Posted August 31 Posted August 31 When I see Jennifer Aniston, I see a wholesome personality with positive vibes. That matters more than 'serious'. 3 1
Digitalism Posted August 31 Posted August 31 I actually always liked her in the good girl. Mike white knows how to fit comedy girls into more serious proyects. She never really tried to get awards outside cake. Someone with her level of fame would get a nom if she constantly tries it. Some of you still think awards are just about talent. Half of the people has won just by campaigning and being a big celebrity
liquiddiamonds Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Look… she's not a versatile or interesting dramatic actress. She also picks terrible comedies just for the checks… Having said that I wouldn't count her out yet. As she grows older she might play some elderly supporting character on a black comedy and score an Oscar nomination. Some people just need to do the very least on a good role and they will be rewarded by their peers just for being likeable enough and Aniston kinda has it. This usually doesn't cut for a Best Actress Oscar as she tried with Cake (awful movie), but it does work in Supporting categories
gab00 Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Shes always starring these silly rom-coms and I love that for her. Like why do you want more from her
ericcartman Posted August 31 Posted August 31 She doesn't have the talent/range. She can do cliche "serious" action/thriller roles, but she can't pull of a drama. She knows that and sticks to what works for her.

fridayteenage Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Jennifer Aniston movies with at least a B- on Metacritic (67+): Office Space, Good Girl, Friends with Money (3 films) As a comparison point, Angelina: A Mighty Heart (1 film) 1
SoldierofLove Posted August 31 Posted August 31 She feels like the female version of Mr Bean to me. You love them but rarely take them seriously. 3

Sazare Posted August 31 Posted August 31 No shade but that was simply never in her wheelhouse. That's like Nicole Kidman trying to do comedy.

YourFavoriteWeapon Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Didn't she rent out some entire venue to celebrate her Academy Award nomination for Cake only to find out she wasn't nominated? 1

ArtForFreedom Posted August 31 Posted August 31 She had a few successes with serious roles but she was typecast from Friends as a Rom Com actress and made bank from it. She's doing just fine
goverm3nth0ker Posted August 31 Posted August 31 she's the female version of adam sandler but at least he snatched some good drama roles in recent years
Filthy Pop Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Angelina Jolie couldn't transition into a comedic actress, why? 1
Bey'Knight Posted September 1 Posted September 1 So we are gonna pretend like she didn't get rave reviews for good girl? Oh oh okay. That she even has longevity as a leading lady is a feat in itself. There's always gonna be genre bias against a woman known for an ubiquitous role that still lives on long past its finale date. Emmy winner Aniston has nothing to prove.

You're so right, I forgot that that film led to her successful career as a comedienne in such classics as Kung Fu Panda Po's Winter Wonderland and Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Master 1
