How would you style Tate McRae's next era?

Tate has received a lot of criticism for her styling during the 'Think Later'  era.

Many people have failed to see that the theme was "wearing my ex's clothes", with almost every look shading her ex-boyfriend, hockey player Cole Sillinger.

This included hockey jerseys, basketball shorts, shoulder pads, mouth guards, hockey gloves, mesh resembling hockey nets, knee pads, shin pads, adidas apparel, and more.

Her merchandise was also designed to match this aesthetic, including jerseys and basketball shorts. However, many people just thought "her stylist is terrible" and needed to be fired.

How would you style Tate to elevate her image, whilst simultaneously matching the sound of her next album?

She needs to ditch the athletic wear and embrace street fashion. Her next album resembles mid 2000s electro-R&B. She needs to take a page out of 2006 mixed with modern influences. Sort of what Billie is wearing these days but with less lesbianic influence

What a unique thread idea.

What if she put on a bob and brought the turtleneck back? I know nothing about fashion.

This would actually be sick. Not for Tate…but definitely for someone. They could do Twiggy makeup and dress like a Beatle's groupie.

I could have told her beforehand. That's something you do for a video or a performance or an album cover - not the whole era.

In her defence, the era itself wasn't super big, only Greedy was.

I think it's a decent creative direction for 2 x music videos, a couple of televised performances and a mini-tour, especially considering it's ending now, after only 9 months.

I think the issue was that people didn't even realise what she was doing. Maybe they will in 5 years time, once her style has changed and they can look back and go, "ohhh…her boyfriend cheated on her so she was wearing all his clothes."

Right now it's just "baby why are you wearing basketball shorts with football shoes?"

I get all the criticism. She's wearing sporty-street clothes but they look kinda tacky-cheap. She needs more embellishments or something. I like Beyonce cause she's wearing this type of clothing for dancing but she looks far more expensive or britney or jlo like posted above

i would love darker makeup on her and better hair styling too. If she's pullin those hot timbaland beats i would love something like that nelly furtado loose ra era styling or something like good girl gone bad but without the short hair

Less Y2K and more avant-garde options, I feel like we haven't been seen enough of those lately. Something akin to futuristic versions of Cher's looks from the 1970s:

Cher wears a signature Bob Mackie piece at the 1974 Met Gala. She would also appear on Time Magazine photographed by Richard Avedon in 1975, wearing the same dress. : r/popculturechat

I like the sporty hockey mitt situation still tbh but now we have some coin

The hockey and athleisure wear for the TL era was decent tbh. Like someone said, street style seems what she should go for, next era.

I agree with this.

She needs to stand out. Everybody does y2k.

Something sexy and a new haircut are needed.
