Rihinvention Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Miley not being there is also crazy. Say what you want about this performance, but it was, objectively, iconic. 1

MonsterNavy Posted August 30 Posted August 30 putting katy and taylor next to the real iconic performances is just 1

Miley's is the most remembered, and even the Applause performance receives more internet attention nowadays then the Roar performance. 2

Wasn't robin thicke cancelled that's probably why OT: It will go to whoever is attending, so Katy or Gaga if she does a surprise DWAS performance

Taylor and Bey are rating magnets, Taylor winning would probably mean a chance she's clean sweeping the whole thing or get most wins in a single night (if possible). Katy is very likely just there cause it feeds her Vanguard worthy narrative. Eminem is "killing" his Slim Shady persona, so it's a fitting time they nominate him for it. Edited August 30 by Popboi.
PiperHalliwell Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I LOVE Taylor and Katy is great (for the throwback), but this must be a joke

But if there's no time restraints on when nominations can come from, then it will just end up being the 'Canada vs. The World' of awards. Everyone will be like "who cares who wins? They can just try again next year." It's definitely just an attempt to remind people of the show's legacy. MTV needs to hire better producers. We don't want a reminder of iconic moments. We want NEW iconic moments.

Stop lying and being delusional, ROAR received more attention than gagas performance , look at the billboard Top 10 the following week 1

They're trying to remind people of major moments because it's been so long since they had one. I knew it was bad but I didn't realise it was this bad. the way youre right

BrokenMachine Posted August 30 Posted August 30 They way they put that Taylor basic performance while P!nk gave the performance of her life that same night is just so... I'll never forgive the GP for focusing on the Taylor-Kanye drama that night instead of the actual iconic performances Bey, Gaga and P!nk did. What a nightmare. End of the rant 1
