conquxror Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I was more defensive of it when it came out, but now I understand more why people don't like. STILL, I think everyone was always way too dramatic about it. Luckily, it seems like people talk about it more positively nowadays, which is good and not a surprise to me honestly 1
SupremeGoddess Posted August 29 Posted August 29 it's better than melodrama but the melodrama stans need something to feed off since they seem to have a bigger kick at dragging SP than streaming mellowdrama 1
Big Bad Wolf Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Being real, no it wasn't. But these two factors did it in: - Too mellow of an album after a 4 year wait - Lana already did this sound and better, and with the same producer I think because of Charli and the remix there's more hype for her now.
Jay L Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Yeah tbh. It's not horrible but it's so mid/bad that I have zero plans to listen again.
Mikeymoonshine Posted August 29 Posted August 29 It's her worst album but it's still a good album imo. I think it being a weak effort plus the whole "happy at the beach" vibe at the time really didn't do her any favours. She was also coming off such an amazing album.
Petra von Kant Posted August 29 Posted August 29 not at all in fact it's a great album that contains some of her best output so far
Démodé Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Plain bad. Halsey and Lorde release the same month and Halsey's is better by MILES, I'm talking THAT bad. Nobody wanted or needed that album from Lorde. Plus the marketing as her "weed album" was equivalent only to "psychedelic pop" by Dua Lipa. Next please, and let's hope it's dance pop / electronic / chamber baroque pop, sth listenable anyway.
BloodLuster Posted August 29 Posted August 29 lyrically is a truly compelling album; The Man With The Axe is one of her best songs ever but the production and instrumentals overall are so flat. a diverse roster of producers could have been more beneficial, like people who worked with Jamiroquai or similar artists.
MerveAksak Posted August 29 Posted August 29 It's not a bad album, it's just okay. Pure Heroine and Melodrama however makes up for it.
pisuke Posted August 29 Posted August 29 It's a great album and her best. This is a fact, not an opinion. If you think otherwise then it's a YOU problem. 1
Filthy Pop Posted August 30 Posted August 30 No, and it never was. Some people aren't sophisticated enough to get it. And that's ok! 1
Fleahive Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Couldn't finish the album but I loved the single. I've made it a tradition to turn the song on every time I open my panoramic sunroof as soon as she says the word "Solar" and the light from the sun above suddenly brightens the inside of my car.
bielneira Posted August 30 Posted August 30 The answer is NO But it's funny how the results of the poll are polarizing hahaha 1
