YourFavoriteWeapon Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) #13 in the USA (#59 YEC and certified 3x platinum), #25 in Canada, #6 in Australia, #8 in Ireland, 152M YouTube views, and 581M streams on Spotify with roughly 141k daily streams - but do you remember it and if you do, what do you think of this song? I recall a lot of people finding it very annoying when it came out but I think it aged pretty well and is a fun slice of early-2010s indie pop that I like going back to occasionally. Better Mistakes Posted August 29 Posted August 29 A bop I discovered this song quite late but I still return to it every now and then and still bop hard to it each time like it's the first time I'm listening to it 2

Raver Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I remember when my cousin showed it to me like 10 years ago. He said it would be a song he thought I would like. I said hell no and never played it again until it went viral on TikTok and I couldn't get it outta my head. I can't help but think of my cousin when I listen to it. I don't speak to him anymore. It's a nice song tho
Rihinvention Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Hated it then and still hate it now It/they gave me Christian camp counsellor vibes…or youth group leaders…whatever they're called. 1 1

Keep in mind this was when I was getting bullied for being effeminate and socially awkward

They give me that vibe too, giving me very much Jehova's Witnesses type of physiognomy. Wikipedia says that a Christian rock band influenced them to start making music so you're not too far off
Hector Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I loved the late '80s alternative sound this had. Had a sweet, melancholy feel to it.
itshyolee Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Loser ass song. I remember the unfortunate chokehold it had on radio stations.
loveisdead9582 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 It was super overplayed. It's not super terrible but it's not their best.
STMG23 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) It's a generic bop that was already dated upon release. Still a bop though. edit: I'm scared of downvotes so I will say this: There is much worse than this *nervous giggling* Edited August 29 by STMG23

Ricanaire Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I always hated this damn pick me ass song along with Hey Soul Sister and Pumped Up Kicks.
Nightingale Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I completely forgot this song existed. Never liked it back then
UBettaTwerkTwerk Posted August 29 Posted August 29 The sound is great but the lyrics try a little too hard to be edgy outcast
