sunbathinganimal Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) Adele and Ed Sheeran have both followed naming conventions of their albums since the start of their careers. The former titles her albums after the age she was when she started working on them, while the 'Celestial' hitmaker follows a pattern of using mathematical symbols. Which one is more annoying? magazine Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Neither. They've always been very cool naming schemes actually. 6 3
HonourableVomit Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Adele's is cute and it's weird that she's the first artist to do it. She'll end it eventually I'm sure but I don't think she's the type of artist to be bothered by the idea of stagnating. Ed is lame.
Opulence Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I like both actually, but Ed's will eventually run out so I would have to say that
Selegend Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Adele album names feels expensive. Ed Sheeran's feels cheap. 1
DawnAnti Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Ed , at least adele's is her age and in a way a reflection of her personal growth 2
supertiffany Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Ed because there are songs that do not fit the concept it makes sense with Adele just simple and straight forward, like a biography. 2
Strawberry Bubble Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I actually appreciate Adele's naming convention. It's as if I could relate to her music when I was 21, and I feel like I will relate to it again when I reach 30. It's a clever way of helping her fans connect with her life stages. On the other hand, I don't find any meaning in Ed Sheeran's mathematical album titles. Ed Sheeran himself is rather irritating.
no_better Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) Ed Sheeran's doesn't really make much sense Edited August 29 by no_better 1
Gagaast Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Adele's naming scheme isn't that bad when you compared to Ed. She said it's derived from her age when she wrote the album or something like that. Divide multiply addition subtraction - what's the album title even supposed to represent. 1
naval23 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Adele's are iconic. 21 and 25 are such an iconic album title Ed's suck 1

Misguided Ghost Posted August 29 Posted August 29 None is irritating to me tbh. Adele's album naming makes more sense though

Peak Now Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Ed because he already gave it up with his attempt at a folkmore moment 1

OT: Ed will always be more annoying to me regardless of the question asked, but Adele's is funny since her ages are always a bit off by the time the album comes out

Peak Now Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Just now, glitch said: Adele's is funny since her ages are always a bit off by the time the album comes out It's supposed to be when she started working on the album, no? Apart from 30 (supposed to come out in 2020, delayed cuz Covid) it's always 1-2 years off which checks out
Parachutes Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Not bothered by either but Adele's titles make more sense thematically since they're meant to represent the points in her life the music is based on
