chiliam Posted August 29 Posted August 29 So many bops and it aged much better than Platnet her and Hot Pink
KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Her blandest and worst album. Surprised it even lasted that long. The singles were nice tho
Flocon Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) This is a pretty good run. Almost a year and should be certified Platinum easily now, so she kinda did good considering how it started. Scarlet is clearly a really great and solid. Still not convinced with the 1st part (Ouchies, Wet ******, 97) but the other half is a highlight of her discography. A the CLAUDE version was a great pusher for the european leg of the Scarlet Tour whick I had the chance to attend. DISRESPECTFUL should've been a real single, it could've brought the GP back to her withotu losing the Scarlet vibe. Anyway. I'm happy with what she gave us, I guess she'll come back at the beginning of 2025 now ? Edited August 29 by Flocon 2
UnusualBoy Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I didn't like the album that much and I guess other people didn't either, although AH is still one of her best sings.

She also concluded the tour so what's the point of pushing the album if you aren't touring and making money back? I also believe her pop fans didn't take too kindly to the rap route she went. Doja really wanted to prove herself as a rapper and she did that with this album. Her next album is going to be massive if she plays her cards right. I do wish she would have released 'FTG' and 'Ouchies' since they're my faves from the album. Taste. Ouchies is my fave non-single

She already did that with 'Say So' live at EMA which was good. Smith like Linkin Park would be pretty cool ngl 1

But she's apparently in the studio with Planet Her producers/engineers. So let's see. I STILL want her to lean into Electronic/Dance more, that's originally what I thought she'd go for with DC4. Hip-hop seemed like such a step back in her evolution, but I understand why she wanted to do it.

Oddly enough, for a song that was a "flop", people loved it at the concert I went to. AH I feel like could have had better success if it was the first single and done a run like KMM. PTTR would have been a hit regardless so that could have been the second single. I feel like Masc and Gun could have been a duel release. Or Can't Wait and Gun.
Bey_Rihstan Posted September 1 Posted September 1 This is gonna be a career defining era for her me thinks. She didn't follow commercial trends and still did well, albeit worse than her previous eras. It's giving me Bey during the 4 era. She'll be perfectly fine if she plays her cards right. I think her next era will be big 1
ChrisTheLoner Posted September 2 Posted September 2 I still look at this era as her Rated R, Attention was her RR and PTTR ended up being her Rude Boy in that sense + Agora being her Hard in terms of top 10 placement. I think her next era is gonna her LOUD era if she plays her cards right and goes with a more Electronic/Dance genre mixed with her signature hip-hop/rap elements.
FrederickGa Posted September 2 Posted September 2 How is Scarlet pulling a Joanne/Chromatica in BB200 with a HUGE SMASH and another HIT
FrederickGa Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) Part of the problem was the demon aesthetic The color/visuals is so dry unlike Gaga/Billie/LilNasX controversial visuals.. Doja's blood/demon aesthetic was just unpalatable Edited September 2 by FrederickGa
B-Luke Posted September 2 Posted September 2 After the unsuccessful rerelease earlier this year (which further reaffirmed the fact that people didn't really **** with the era outside of a few songs), I'm certain she will return to a more commercial sound again next album cycle.
makeme Posted September 2 Author Posted September 2 I think the biggest problem was her going anti pop star on us after serving MPG with Hot Pink and Planet her. Shaving her head and ditching the sexy look, arguing with fans online, and her general attitude at the time was a huge turn off for casual listeners. However I will say she seems to of mustered up some good will post Scarlet. The European leg got a lot of love and her new relationship was getting a lot of positive attention. She has the groundwork to come back with a more commercial sound and smash again
