Jacobdaniel Posted August 28 Posted August 28 rabid, cult-like fanbase. outside of them, the album's had no impact 10 9 8
Tropez Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Taylor is single handedly the biggest artist this millennium by a pretty wide margin. So obviously no other artist is touching her. Name a pop girl who had a billion+ grossing tour? Or consistent smash albums and singles for nearly 20 years straight? She's bigger than she was 10 years ago. 5 1
dussel_06 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 We're not surprised. She's the biggest artist of the 21st century by lightyears. 2 2
Rihinvention Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Huge fan base + The Eras Tour. I love her, but these numbers were set in stone before the album even came out. I don't think it's reflective of the album itself. It's not even in the top half of her own albums, quality wise, imo. 1 1
JO1s Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Bulk buys and her fan base only listens to her and the people she platforms. 2 2

ariananext Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Not really fair to compare total spotify numbers, you should split TTPD considering it has more than double the amount of tracks the others have Anyways the answer is easy: her fans buy and stream like no other fanbase, although this is faaar from her best effort nor it is among the best releases this year.

TTPD alone (no The Anthology) is the most streamed album this year by a big margin. 2
Feanor Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Because Talent always wins. In this case, it also wins by outselling the others by over 4M units. 2

It's unfair to compare total numbers =\= other albums are bigger than TTPD. I didn't mean that other albums would be bigger if they had the same amount of tracks, in fact everything Taylor releases nowadays obliterates everything else, but comparing total streams is in fact unfair when one has double the amount of tracks. 1

It is fair. Cowboy Carter has almost the same amount of songs ~ 27 tracks but only 1.4 Billion streams (a 4th of TTPD's total streams) TTPD (Standard Version - 16 songs) - 3.7 Billion streams Edited August 28 by TayDuaStan 2 1
Rev8 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 And most of the other albums sound better than it.. ..so more of an example how sales don't mean **** 1 1

That people buy what they like so… I guess nobody cares about the other albums, if the gap is that big

PoisonedIvy Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Because despite ATRL's disbelief, Taylor is indeed the music industry. And the album is more enjoyable than they want to admit. 2 2
