Did GaGa's rebrand to be taken seriously attributed to her career resurgence?

No, her last 3 studio albums bombed and Born this way started her downfall, she is clinging to acting as she should, and the soundtrack and side music projects are helping her, but when it comes to her music, there's no rebrand, the GP clearly say no.

Gaga is clearly one of the smartest and talented pop girls in the entire industry. The last 10 years Gaga has been focusing on trying prove to herself and the gp that she more than just a crazy outfit wearing pop star who does electro pop. It might take several years to see the fruit of her labor but she has proven it in the long run. You can see it now how much of impact she left in pop culture and now with her current success.

None of her last 3 albums ever bombed.

Her imperial phase gave her a large ride and die fanbase who were willing to follow her through her different ventures.

Dabbling into country, movies (especially the type that garner Oscar attention), jazz, R&B…she is gonna be confronted with an audience that won't give her the benefit of the doubt. It's her own talent, hard work and respect for the genre that allows her win over these folks.

And collaborating with different artists is a testament not only to her own skills but her kindness. I doubt Tony, The Rolling Stones, Ridley Scott, Bradley Cooper et al would work with her if she was a demanding diva.

There is a reason whenever Gaga does something outside her original persona there will be people who will go "Wow, I didn't know the meat dress lady can actually sing!!!!". Even with DWAS, there is a good chunk of the Bruno Mars fanbase that has never heard of even Shallow.

Its like Im happy FOR her always and want her to win but at the same time I fit the mold of people who miss her as this crazy costume electro pop gurl with an underground personality. I do have gurls like Charli , LISA , Chappell who can give me that missing stamp though. In a nice way I AM getting sick of this white washed country trend so this era doesnt have me yet unless she has a trick up her sleeve.

Watch out cause her abracadabra trick is about to **** us good

Yes, she proved she's not a one trick pony of controversy over substance.

A lot of the multi generational support she's had since 2015 (especially for ASIB) is cause the GP sees her as a huge talent and not as the crazy outfits girl anymore.

This is an overstatement. Underperformed, yes. But Gaga never had a bombed album ala Bionic/Lotus or Witness/Smile/143

I'm not surprised. Gaga always find new ways to be interesting. That's why I'll forever stan her for that

Yes, she was smart to do it and drastically expanded her appeal to beyond her existing fan base.  She's all about reinvention and has the talent and charisma to make it work.  That being said, it doesn't mean all of her work will resonate with the GP, and that's okay.

Yes. Without the rebrand, Bradley, Arianna, and Bruno would not want to work with her.

Gaga is a pop culture sucker, she reinventing herself embracing numerous clichés/personas during her career was expected, but of course going from the infamous doritos festival to singing in the Oscars a rendition yo The Sound of Music in one year is not something we see everyday.

Oop. This tea.

The real test will be when Gaga releases a solo single from LG7. Will it be a hit or will it quickly sizzle away?

Stay tuned!

Please make another shaky start thread when she releases the LG7 lead. It worked wonders for DWAS.

Reinvention is important for pop stars, yes. Unfortunately some artists can never achieve such a thing in their Lifetimes. :celestial5:

Yes. It was a great and smart career move. Others should follow that example.
