Graves Posted October 9 Author Posted October 9 Track #1 on LOVEppears HIGH SCORE: 10 x 3 (Kyle-x, blueberries, Maresia) LOW SCORE: 0 x 1 (SA*KURA) HOST SCORE: 7 Did pretty damn well for an introduction track, didn't it? I guess all we really needed was the right mood setter, which I think this track does pretty well. Produced by long-time collaborators HAL, the rather bluntly titled Introduction is a glitchy and frenetic burst of music that ushers in one of Ayu's best albums. I wasn't sure if Introduction was going to soar or suffer due to its placement, unlike some of the other intro tracks this one acts as more of a prelude for Fly high rather than an entirely independent piece of music. Though it seems like that wasn't a dealbreaker for all of us. She said "fly high" and we said "bet". What else is there to say? Great introduction to a great album and an impressive showing for it - but at the end of the day it is still just an intro. Let's bring on some of the more juicy tracks. Suilen: this is low-key better than some proper songs, sorry. Kyle-x: Whew, I love when an intro is sequenced into the next track. Invisibility: THIS is the way to introduce an album. Curaga: Clunky transition into Fly high, but the beginning is cool/promising. Meloetta Carey: stunning transition. AMIT: flows nicely into fly high which is neat! 16/17 2

Kyle-x Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Introduction was an introduction to the new yassified Ayu of the LOVEppears era and we had to cheer

Graves Posted October 9 Author Posted October 9 Track #10 on Duty HIGH SCORE: 10 x 2 (Kyle-x, UrMom) LOW SCORE: 1 x 1 (Invisibility) HOST SCORE: 7 Aw, this lullaby. Though it wouldn't usually be my thing, teddy bear does hit a little sweet spot on my heart that makes me like it a lot. There's something quite earnest and even child-like about Ayu's delivery on this song that just makes for a very emotive moment. Whether you believe it's about her grandmother or about her father, it's clear that it is a very personal and affecting song for her to sing. The live performances alone... Oh ****, where did I put the tissues? I will make mention of the 2003 tour performance, in which Ayu sings teddy bear to a teddy bear, and then immediately goes into Memorial address right afterwards. Girls, she's trying to make me a wreck. Why am I getting so deep into Ayu lore? And does anybody have a shoulder I can cry on? Suilen: I don't think that the song itself is that great, but the lyrics are touching and it's apparently about her grandmother, who'd passed away before her career took off, so as someone who was also brought up by their grandmother, I can't help sympathizing with her. Kyle-x: Such a touching song. Where are my girls with daddy issues at? I'm going to guess a lot of y'all— Really weird there was never an acoustic/orchestral vocal version of this released. The live performances of this </3 whew. Meloetta Carey: i wonder how this is gonna do. I feel like the nasality of her voice combined with the heartlessness of the average ATRLer could tank it. AMIT: I have to be in a certain mood for this one but it's not bad by any means. 11/13 1
