Jude Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Admit it, 2024 might be actually the best year for music ever since you were born. Everyone really decided that this is the year to release high quality (and might be timeless) tunes. The Grammys 2025 will be legendary. 5
LewisK Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I don't know if it's the best of the best, but I'm surprised as well about what's going on. Certainly a year for the history books, it'll be hard to top
ChooseyLover Posted August 23 Posted August 23 (edited) Maybe if I was 4 years old But I've been fed more than usual. So no complaints here. Edited August 23 by ChooseyLover 1
P!NK2LOVE Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Well yes! 2020 was also good but this year is the same artists really but better material / other newbies.
LVP Posted August 23 Posted August 23 (edited) No. 2020 gave us Folklore, Future Nostalgia, What's you pleasure?, Women in music, Sawayama.. The fact is we have so many releases this year but the quality is lower Edited August 23 by LVP 1
AdrianNicki Posted August 23 Posted August 23 There are a lot of album releases this year but tbh nothing is really sticking so I wouldn't call it the best. 1
Gelato Posted August 23 Posted August 23 "nooo, music peaked back in 2007 when i was 15 the new pop girls are terrible they dont want to have fun anymore they dont try they dont dance they suck" 3
itshyolee Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Maybe for younger Gen Z/Gen Alpha Although this year isn't bad, we've definitely seen better days. 1
honestopinion Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Good luck babe!, Miley and Beyonce collab, Billie's album, Sabrina's album are my highlights for sure and new Lady Gaga and Bruno collab is beautiful and I can't wait for their own projects but 2020 was the best so far
B-Luke Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Yes. I mean look at what we already got and it's not even September (just to pick a few) 2 1

Yeah, as someone who dgaf about this new generation of popstars the last release I was interested in was Radical Optimism and that was months ago. Zach Bryan's album too but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Plus like you said everything just comes and goes now and unfortunately that's the nature of the business now
Wicked Posted August 23 Posted August 23 It's not better than 2022...yet. This year just has a lot of high profile releases but not all of them been amazing.
mike_int Posted August 23 Posted August 23 If this was the best year regarding music releases of my lifetime I would be really pissed, sad, depressed, angry and disappointed LOL
thatsmydemi Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Not really. What seemed a promising year ended up with half of the releases being disappointing and unexciting. 1 1
taylamour Posted August 23 Posted August 23 (edited) That would be 2008. **2005 is almost tied. Edited August 23 by taylamour
Kiss It Better Posted August 23 Posted August 23 not even best of this decade, but one of the best for sure the last 10 years: 2017 > 2022 > 2016 > 2015 > 2024 > 2021 > 2019 > 2020 > 2023 > 2018
aesthetic bih Posted August 23 Posted August 23 In my lifetime? No, that title is reserved for 2013. In the last ten years. Imo, yes.
alexrex Posted August 23 Posted August 23 If you ignore Dr Luke's & Katy Perry's horrible 143 album, yes, pretty good year.
KillingYourCareer Posted August 23 Posted August 23 It's not that special. Nothing will ever top 2006 for me
