I think Nelly Furtado's TSI could have been bigger with decent production

Also Jack ruined Solar Power with his lazy production

If the song is a 10/10 it cannot be ruined by the production.

godmatica with a bit more oomph would have went from 8/10 to 10/10 :katie2:

breakaway by kelly clarkson sounds like it was recorded with a potato. especially the title track. but it's a 10/10 album otherwise.

That one Kesha album (Highroad?) It had so much potential but I couldn't finish it because the production seemed so off/unfinished

Omg... so true about the title track. The sound is so messy.

Lana's Tunnel has several songs with sound clippings :skull:

Most songs on TTPD main album are ruined by nothingburger production.

Glory is an amazing pop album. But certain songs could have been saved if production calmed down a little. Private show and What you need could've ended up being such great moments but were truly ruined by the annoying OBVIOUS editing of the vocals.

honestly VERY fair! though I still personally f*ck with the production cause it's nice and raw, it was definitely not the tea for if she wanted it as a pop album to do better :cm:

also super fair for similar reasons :giraffe: though The Spirit Indestructible is overall better in terms of consummate pop songs in the writing department, High Road is still enjoyable to me. the production, again, is quite raw, and doesn't achieve what she was trying (somewhat) to do in terms of returning to the Animal/Cannibal vibes. instead, it's a fascinatingly sad and contemplative album sometimes disguised as a party album with a few ballads. Potato Song in particular is amazing but has the most depressing, misanthropic undertones on the album imo

Maybe an unpopular opinion? By almost all of Taylor's re-recordings were sort of ruined (at least ones i heard) in my opinion except for Wildest dreams.

This, except for I Wish You Would. It sounded better than the original one.

Fearless vault tracks. I hate that they Folklored/Evermored them

I love IWYW (TV) however they ruined the bridge instrumental and that was my favorite part. The best notes are missing :rip: I don't get how Jack A. messed that up when he's the OG producer.

I get it for some songs like Somebody Like Me and At the Holiday Party… but what about Down and Out Downtown and Live in the Dream? the production on those songs is top notch imo (and I say that as someone who is typically ambivalent to Antontacos' production)

Live In The Dream and Down are my favorites haha. It's not all BAD productions per se, I used Daddy as an example of it being a record where some songs would've been much stronger and more impactful with different production and stylistic choices complimenting them and driving Annie's vision home, especially since she always talked about being inspired by 70's funk for instance.

High Road, Britney Jean and ARTPOP.

Rebel Heart comes to mind. Lust For Life also has a couple songs with pretty poor production. And finally, Kylie's Golden and especially Disco sound like they were recorded on a tin can and produced on a potato.

Queen Pen's debut album. She had Jay Z ghostwriting for her, that would be an all-time female rap album if it wasn't for the lazy ass, bling era sample production. idk what Teddy Riley was thinking.

BDay is amazing, but 2024 Beyoncé would make it a 10/10.

oh yeah I like Down too! Down and Out Downtown is definitely my fav though, with Down and Live in the Dream following

yeah I agree, some songs should've been punchier and more epic sounding. the three aforementioned are the best examples of that because the sitar and bass sound sooooo multi-dimensional and futuristic while still being pretty 70s vibes :jamming:
