What scrapped song/album/project actually deserved to get scrapped?

Most of us are aware of the mystery of Original Doll by Britney, ARTPOP Act 2, or XCX World, some wishing the material was unleashed into the world officially at some point. It is sometimes saddening that projects like these get scrapped.

However, what scrapped/shelved piece of music actually deserved its fate of not seeing the light, whether from it potentially ruining the artist's reputation, the material simply being godawful, or any other reason. The examples mentioned are only provided context, doesn't have to just be these 3.

And if you want to be messier and start sh*t, which I always love, what's one that SHOULD'VE been cancelled.

Sound off ladies, gentlemen, and theys.

The music video for that horrible Beyonce and Alicia Keys colab.

Joanne's original direction. She took songs to RedOne before taking them back to Mark Ronson. I know cupcake Gaga stans would have loved "original LG5" but putting out another dance record after ARTPOP would have tanked Gaga's career.

Same reasoning for ARTPOP Act II. Her worst album didn't need to be extended.

Tinashe's EP "Nashe". I maintain that it would've been a stain on her discography.

I know some of the songs got an official release but they were mostly reworked in some form which improved them considerably.

Nashe by Tinashe tbh, the sound was very of it's time, and the songs we've gotten from it they are just not as good as compared to Songs For You

MANiCURE as a single/the Paparazzi -Telephone continuation. The video treatment  for the song sounded outright embarrassing, just as the DWUW video.

Angel's Advocate - Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel was a decent album, but nothing more than that. No need to make a remix album out of it.

The Gaga/Kanye joint tour. It sounded good back then but honestly it would've been a mess for sure.

Digital Distortion.

I worship the ground of every black person who criticised whatever it is that Iggy was trying to do. "Rapping", a blaccent, vocal blackface — whatever you want to call it.

They shut that project down QUICK and my ears & mental health could not be more grateful.

The original version of Aura. I love the song but it was appropriative for her to be singing about that as a western non Muslim white woman. Would have been looked back on like "Orient made" is. :rip:

I love blackout and like ITZ. The music she recorded for OD wasn't as good as either project and would've been a stain on her discography. People only want that album because of her personal life at the time but blackout is MILES better than Mona Lisa and those other songs

Loving all of your answers, but thoroughly disappointed that no one brought up the godawful Bebe Rexha loving alcohol more than this pwussee demo. I had to stop myself from putting it in the OP.

Yes! As much as I adore 50s-60s doo w0p, having an entire album with this sound would have pigeonholed Ariana to a rather restricted image and led to wrong expectations for her evolution as an artist. Paired with the bubblegum pop of "Pink Champagne", "Voodoo Love", and "Boyfriend Material" (all of which I really enjoy, mind you), it would give Ariana a hard time to shift as smoothly into "My Everything" + "Dangerous Woman" like she did.

Mixing the best 50s-60s inspired cuts with the Mariah-inspired 90s R&B throwbacks made for such a unique and charming combination that instantly made Ariana stand out. Not to mention the melancholy of "Honeymoon Avenue" simply doesn't hit the same in its original version.

didn't someone here did a deep dive and concluded that this project was probably unfinished?
