DawnAnti Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I was listening to music and don't start now came on shuffle and i listened to it and it aged so well , at first i was sceptical but i gave it a chance and i enjoyed it so much to a point i played the entire future nostalgia album , did it age the same way for you ? Is that song a future classic people will be talking about in 50 years? Thoughts 1 1
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I don't listen to it often, but appreciate the whole era. 1
EnigmaticAndroid Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Yes. It and most of the album has been aging beautifully. Pop classic! 1
Mikeymoonshine Posted August 19 Posted August 19 (edited) It's probably my favourite Dua song other than houdini, it's just so 80s. Edited August 19 by Mikeymoonshine 1
havewemet Posted August 19 Posted August 19 The Live In LA version is by far the superior edit of the song. 1
BlackoutZone Posted August 19 Posted August 19 It's the slickest song of all time, so absolutely yes! 1
motherfossora Posted August 19 Posted August 19 all of future nostalgia aged very well Spoiler except the last two songs, what was she thinking.....
KillingYourCareer Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I never liked the song to begin with, I'm not a fan of bitter songs about exes where the singer convinces themselves that they're over it when they're clearly not, but musically it aged very well
ChooseyLover Posted August 19 Posted August 19 No, it didn't and I never liked the song. I think I might be the only one who prefers Radical Optimism over that era. RO has been the first era of hers I actually loved since Last Dance and all those amazing early singles.
Kern Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Whole Future Nostalgia aged like fine wine. I think Dua has been one of the biggest hitmakers in modern pop and will be remembered as such
DawnAnti Posted August 19 Author Posted August 19 6 minutes ago, Kiss It Better said: unlike physical DELETE
Pikachoo Posted August 19 Posted August 19 well it is a disco sound, so its meant to sound aged on purpose
Quiqui4eva Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I can't believe it's been almost five years. It would still smash today for sure
wastedpotential Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Actually yeah, quite a bit. I definitely burned out on overplay, but coming back 5 years later it's fresh and it's excellent 1
theweekend Posted August 19 Posted August 19 fantastic until today but It was overplayed and burned out a bit for me.
bielneira Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Not at all. I love 'Future Nostalgia', but that whole album is trapped in 2020 to me.
Janet Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Never enjoyed it. Houdini on the other hand... A real grower!
Rihinvention Posted August 19 Posted August 19 This song's production doesn't get enough credit. It's two songs in one. One is a futuristic, EDM build-up, and the other (the drop) is a nostalgic, funk song. They literally represent "future" and "nostalgia". And then what does she do in the final chorus? A self mashup of both songs. It's like she spent 3 minutes teasing this massive drop, but kept taking it away from you at the last second. But then in the final chorus, you FINALLY get this huge crescendo moment with the two songs coming together, and it just works perfectly.
