Arrows Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Not a Gaga stan, but can we just collectively ignore critics going forward? 1 1

He did the same with TTPD and various other albums/artists. I still don't know why we care so much about his opinion I mean that album.. Well lets just say he picked the correct opinions to follow
Rihinvention Posted August 18 Posted August 18 I agree with him though. It feels like it was made for boomers watching Dolly Parton or June Carter Cash perform on a variety show, but boomers aren't paying attention to today's artists. I can't tell who it's for. If anything, it feels like a stepping stone for her upcoming Joker era to feel more authentic. 5 1 2

I'm talking about the whole album and it's message and you know that. And, no, it literally isn't. Nobody was doing that sound then, there was no songs like that on the radio. It's a pop song/album, yes, she's a popstar. But it's hardly GP-friendly for it's time and it's probably the most controversial album a mainstream artist has done since Madonna's Erotica. If you're going to attempt to drag Gaga, at least find something logical to do it with. Edited August 18 by Thin White Duke

Suddenly she's the zeitgeist in 2024 and he can't get enough of her This absolutely is not true he said that Vroom Vroom was one of the most forward thinking pop music of the decade when it came out and gave four of her albums 8 or above. Just because he gave Crash a 5 doesn't mean he's a bandwagoner
Shinning Posted August 18 Posted August 18 It's a boring bland song by two artists who have been creatively bankrupt for years. 1 2 2

Bruno might be bankrupt but not in the talent section Silk Sonic was only 2 years ago and it was superb And from what Gaga has planned for LG7 / Joker... I think you're wrong again
TipToe Posted August 18 Posted August 18 How he usually perceives Bruno music? I can see why some critics might don't like his style... and this sing is very on brand for him. It's a good song but it's nothing new and it seems like GaGa just went along and didn't contribute much beyond putting her vocals. 1

I think you're wrong again Neither LG7 nor Joker are out yet be serious OT: The aim of the song was not to be a masterpiece. Not everything has to be revolutionary, deep, or avant-garde. It's just a cute and simple song with a nice instrumentation, people like him are doing the most as usual. 3

Abracadabra Posted August 18 Posted August 18 It's getting so tiring that every song is expected to reinvent the wheel. What happened to just appreciating good well written music? 1
commander Posted August 18 Posted August 18 I totally see where he's coming from. I loved the song upon my first listen but after a while the magic simply starts failing. You can see that both Gaga and Bruno tried to artificially recreate a Shallow and a When I was Your Man. It's not that the song is bad per se, it's just that it feels counterfeited and dishonest. Fantano has an very sensitive ear for these things and it didn't click until he mentioned it. The song is way too intentional and targeted. 1

He feels like someone who just likes something when it gets big Didn't he do the same with Chappel? First he said he didn't like her like at the beginning of the year, but when she blew up, he suddenly 'got her' He never panned Chappell, he gave a brief lil 'It's good but not very distinctive' TRAFOAMP mini review when it came out and then came out later saying he got it and Chappell more. You can call Fantano a lot of things but it's crazy to accuse him of being a success stan
toxicgenie Posted August 18 Posted August 18 It's being streamed on hype because the song is bad and bland. 2
politeone Posted August 18 Posted August 18 I'm with him, I like some parts of the chorus but overall, bland af
Jay07 Posted August 18 Posted August 18 I don't think he panned it, he just said it sounds like a Silk Sonic song and it does. Not every song is for him, this is for the moms.
