Everyone can see that what is happening on Twitter at the moment is extreme and dangerous. This is not about freedom of expression. You can express your opinions on other social media sites. I find lawless free speech problematic. Social media and tech billionaires should not be above our laws and our government.

What I don't understand is that many people see that Musk is dangerous and still stay on twitter and keep him and his popularity alive, and all because of stan twitter? There are plenty of alternatives. Just find a new site and be done with it.

PERIOD!!!!!

I don't understand why Jack Dorsey sold Twitter in the first place, just to create a copy. :rip:

But are these accounts truly spreading disinformation, or is the Brazilian government following in the footsteps of Venezuela, North Korea, China, and Russia by banning anything that opposes their government or political party???? Just asking. This feels like it could set a dangerous precedent. Governments shouldn't have such sweeping power to ban social media.

This really concerns me, especially considering how Lula initially supported the authoritarian Maduro, who did the same in Venezuela some weeks ago. Here in Colombia, our president is abhorrent and openly against press freedom; he'd love to silence anyone ,against him and has already his own fox news type of tv channel spreading propaganda in my country....So things like this are scary to me. Social networks is how people spread ideas and the Contra to the goverments wrongdoins.

Elon is despicable, and X is a disaster, and i hope we get a replacement soon like BlueSky-Threads but could someone here elaborate about this??
I know about the politics of my latino brothers but not about brazil

Could someone here who isn't one of the usual people who love defending Russia, China, and all that tankie-commie or the extreme right-wingers...Someone who is unbiased-in the middle, explain the situation to me? I'm worried about the people of Brazil :emofish: It sucks when sites go down. They must be sufferin. i hate when ATRL or Reddit is down.

and now without Twitter (The core of the stan world) and her huge brazilian fanbase, Katy might have much fewer sales for 143. The brazilians fans been carrying her career for so long and are the most supportive:rip: she cant catch a break :gaycat6:  bye bye to the rock in rio exposure
Karma is real. She keeps receipts :gaycat4:

This is not similar to actions in any of those states. For once it's the judiciary that has gone head to head with Musk/twiter in Brazil. Lula would likely not be in favor it the supreme court decision.

Good for Brazil, **** twitter. But also funny that some of the most annoying braindead Stan accounts are Brazilians. Good riddance to them

Elon made the app worst.

the bots or trolls are not banned or suspended instead those accounts that have legitimacy are the ones being suspended instead.

Big win for Brazil. I'm surprised that Europe is still allowing that glorified 4chan forum to operate without any restrictions.

The stupidity is outstanding. The amount of people that blindly support censorship tells the horrendous and scary future that awaits us.

Twitter took him to trial to force him to comply with the agreement and honor the obligation that had already been signed by him that he would buy the company

You cannot believe how many accounts I've reported for blatant disinformation, harassment and blatant transphobia and racism and nothing is ever done, especially if they have a blue checkmark. It really has become a right wing cesspool under Elon.

wow, you are karen in real life as well as here.

OT: tik tok next please!

Yeah, maybe before we weren't forced onto a "for you" page that shows unsolicited content from right wing grifters and nazis, gore and porn.

Twitter is an actual cesspool and I hope other countries follow suit with this until Elon has no more power. The damage Twitter has done and Elon's enabling of Trump, libsoftiktok and others collectively is horrifying.

why would you try and sneak porn into the same breath as "right wing grifters and nazis"?

sex workers are among the most persecuted, abused, scapegoated, ostracized, and demonized people by right wing movements.

tumblr and twitter hosted the most active leftish communities of the 2010s (relative to instagram and facebook, for example) because they didn't censor erotic (and just generally sex-related) content, so these were safe places for trans and queer people, sexual violence survivors, sex workers, etc. to exist in public and discuss the things important to us without erasure. these groups are among the most "loyal"/obligate left wing constituencies, because right wingers would rather exterminate us.

Brazilians are the backbone of Stan Twitter so this is a loss for the culture. Understandable, but definitely a loss.

I didn't even realize 90% of chart accounts are based in Brazil :skull: what is the Stan world going to do without them.

You literally called me a Karen for reporting transphobia and racism so I assume you stand with transphobes and racists. Do you understand english and the meaning of the words you use?
