Popular Post Anthinos Posted August 31 Popular Post Posted August 31 Everyone can see that what is happening on Twitter at the moment is extreme and dangerous. This is not about freedom of expression. You can express your opinions on other social media sites. I find lawless free speech problematic. Social media and tech billionaires should not be above our laws and our government. What I don't understand is that many people see that Musk is dangerous and still stay on twitter and keep him and his popularity alive, and all because of stan twitter? There are plenty of alternatives. Just find a new site and be done with it. 13 2

It is not censorship. The company was operating iligally. No company, specially not international companies, should be able to contervene laws, nor over-rule the government (which is how society organises itself) because you are a rich company/individual. That would be a very dark precedent that could see whole countries fall at the mercy of coorporations. No way. 17

State of Grace. Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Good. Now if only other countries would follow Brazil. I just opened the app and it kinda sent me how my FYP was basically all chart accounts saying goodbye. Stan twitter is over 2 2

Where would we get real- time news about crimes and atrocities being committed in Gaza, for instance? I don't like Elon Musk at all but Twitter /X is where we get unfiltered content of what's happening in the world. 1

Instagram, for instance, although it keeps censoring/demoting/shadow-banning content related to Palestine too. As much as I used to love Twitter, it's become a literal cesspool. I do like getting information in real-time but Elon's corrupt ass must be stopped. 1

Venice B Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Twitter nowadays is full of naz*s. Since twitter itself can't seem to bother to get rid of them, I'm all in for countries getting rid of twitter 6

Idk, maybe a new timeline based app that isn't obsessed with being as fringe offensive as possible? If you want what twitter is offering, try 4chan 1

Yeah, maybe before we weren't forced onto a "for you" page that shows unsolicited content from right wing grifters and nazis, gore and porn. Twitter is an actual cesspool and I hope other countries follow suit with this until Elon has no more power. The damage Twitter has done and Elon's enabling of Trump, libsoftiktok and others collectively is horrifying. 6 7

Now, how exactly the richest man on the planet controlling a social media according to his whims and refusing to follow national law because the president is center-left related to "free and open internet"? Care to explain? 7

Velvet Night Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Good job, Brazil! Laws apply to everyone, if you're going to operate a business in different countries you have to obey the laws of those countries. You don't get to thumb your nose at them because you're Elon Musk. I hope the EU follows suit soon. 3
