Is Spotify that huge in Thailand? Just looking at the Top 50 list there and the first non k-pop song has 160k streams...

It's heavily botted. You see BTS songs going from 91 to 1 to 20 like nothing. Same with Vietnam.

Those numbers are wild. I know South Korea doesn't use Spotify much but the song is nowhere to be found on Melon or Instiz when Lisa's the most globally successful idol right now :skull: I guess I'm happy for her if she can establish her name outside of that country where people pay her dust

are you really surprised that Koreans won't support the only Thai artist from the kpop group? :skull: also she's not using any Korean in her songs anymore so she's clearly not trying to appeal to them and I wouldn't either considering she's probably look down upon by most of the korean audience. I'm not gonna say it but you know how how koreans are, you get my drift.

I wasn't talking about Lisa, her streams there seem reasonable, I'm just saying that the Spotify charts in Thailand and Vietnam are heavily manipulated by BTS stans so the service seems bigger than it actually is due to those fake figures

What happened? I'm not quite familiar and I have read on Twitter that they most likely do not like her like the rest of the world does. I also read that there is a reason why she is now leaving in LA and has no plans in living in Korea again

Basically what @Eóghan said: she's never been fully appreciated in Korea due to her being a foreigner. She probably also wanted a career in the West and build a strategy towards that and was right to do so.
