The Music Industry Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Fraudulent would mean that it's illegal, not allowed by the rules. This is all perfectly allowed whether you like it or not Anyway, no, her chart tactics will not impact her legacy negatively. Literally no one outside of the stan world cares that a random Taylor Nation intern goes on her website every other week to upload new mp3 files of her live Eras Tour vocals. No one that isn't chronically online is going to look back in 10-20 years and be like "she's iconic but she released too many digital variants of her 11th record so I have no respect for her ". If anything (ATRL will not like this part!), her chart tactics might actually help her legacy in the long run. History favors the victors. Taylor is more likely to be remembered as the best-selling artist of her time (if not all time), as the artist with the most #1 albums ever, the artist with the most week at #1, etc. Because again, history favors the victors. And Taylor likes to win! 8
greento Posted August 16 Posted August 16 No because no one outside of twitter actually knows about this, it will be forgotten in a years time In the end she'll be remembered for her good music, huge tour (biggest ever) and huge fan base 6
woohoo Posted August 16 Posted August 16 She wants the Beatles record and every week notched gets her closer. Thats what it's about. Not blocking other artists (although billie deserved for those hypocritical comments). 3 2
mael Posted August 16 Posted August 16 THOTS are single-handedly keeping Her relevant by keeping Her name in their mouths everyday. 5
blackoutbaby Posted August 16 Posted August 16 No. Literally nobody outside of stan Twitter/forums cares 4
aotearoa Posted August 16 Posted August 16 how is she "going up against chappell" if new versions are happening every week?
Worm Posted August 16 Posted August 16 2 hours ago, brieflyonearth11 said: She was going to beat billie, charli xcx on uk charts and chappell roan on charts, it's a good business decision to get a bigger lead too. I do wonder if her team is taking head to these online conversation or just don't care. There is going to be conversation around her name anyway. She was going to be number #1 anyways, the only one she wasn't going to beat was Eminem and the k pop artists that pushed her to #4. It seems her team doesn't care and their job is to keep her number 1. However, it's still creating conversation. She was going to be 1# anyway. Can we please stop spreading this fake twitter narrative that Taylor was going to beat Charli XCX on the uk charts even without the extra CD and digital variants, i'm honestly getting so tired of having to link all the evidence refuting it
Blue. Posted August 16 Posted August 16 No, her legacy as the biggest artist in music history is cemented already.
Meev Posted August 16 Posted August 16 It's not so much about 'tuning' her image but rather getting her haters BIG mad. Does the average person care about her variants? No. Does her haters care about her variants? Yes, and they will continue seething about it. 1 1
TheArgonaut Posted August 17 Posted August 17 I promise you no one get's home from their 9-5 and starts thinking about Taylor's "fraudulent activities" and how disgusted they are by them. 3
