Its a cute hit she released before tour and for a movie soundtrack.

Could've been bigger with better strategy.

It has above 260m views on youtube which is higher than

Water - 219m
Anti Hero - 206m

Cardigan - 181m

What was i made for - 159m

Espresso - 131m

Fortnight - 100m

We Can't be friends - 144m

So you better stfu if you want to say something DUMB

Many Gaga songs has followed this strange trajectory, look at ARUTW:  it is objectively bigger than many quick #1 songs by other artists, it's one of the most organic songs of all time  but if you look at its chart it truly doesn't reflect its real power.

It's more like a sleeper hit :foxaylove2: I love that song though.

For a Gaga solo song that's 4 minutes long and a hit on the AC (50+ demographic) yes, because it hit 300m streams quicker than all her other solo songs in the streaming era, it barely went top 20 anywhere, it only scraped 88m playlist reach, and never touched 1.2m streams in a day so it clearly had some longevity. But for the TopGun OST and being in a film no.

it's also outstreaming 2022's top 3s lift me up and break my soul

let's check the relevant markets:

UK: #24

Canada: #25

Australia: #29

France: #32

New Zealand: #33

US: #49

Germany: #72

sounds good for her standards, but overall a mid flop

now keeping in mind this was associated with like one of the biggest and hyped movies in recent years, the song was a bomb

Not the cherry picking, why these two songs particularly? The bar is in hell :dies:

It was a moderate hit. Soundtrack songs don't generally almost go top 40 and its stats are decent for how strangely it was promoted (I think I remember the song being released on a Tuesday? :rip:)

I wouldn't call it a hit but I also wouldn't call it a flop. It got totally overshadowed by "I Ain't Worried" by OneRepublic from the same soundtrack but I don't believe it's completely forgotten and it spawned an Oscar nomination which is a good thing. I remember when I was in Austria for the Formula 1 Grand Prix and they had some sort of aircraft show and they played the song during it, so I guess some people might like it.

I can't sing it in my head, so personally, no. I know I've heard it before, but I can't remember how it goes.

The song is amazing.

It wasn't really a hit tho. It had nothing more than an acceptable chart performance. Some people know it, most don't.

Because these 2 songs were 2 come back single from MPGs   released almost at the same time as HMH and went #1 and #2????
