ugo Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I love her but why does she dress like she's making the most experimental bjork-esque music when she makes some basic bops (which is totally ok) 1 1 4 13
Dancehall Queen Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Girl that's a baby queen doing the Statue of Liberty for Halloween. She's just having fun. 7

May Posted August 13 Posted August 13 because people who want to be huge pop stars don't get to take over the mainstream culture with this kind of styling in 2024 ? she re-evaluated and changed it up . I admire the self awareness 1 9
FameFatale Posted August 13 Posted August 13 She's an artist... she's creative, fun, and not afraid to show some personality. Every show/performance has a theme. 6
Rihinvention Posted August 13 Posted August 13 "Why is X artist's art their art?" …because it's their art. 7
Gelato Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I actually think the outfits are very fitting for a Midwest Princess 1
UnusualBoy Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I guess pop girls cannot have fun and dress whatever they want.
Bojana Posted August 13 Posted August 13 oh my god i cant believe what I'm reading, feels like im in 2009 1 1 2

State of Grace. Posted August 13 Posted August 13 (edited) Because.....part of her concept/storyline is a girl who doesn't know who she is and finds out that she's gay and loves drag. She is literally doing drag. GaGa was dressing up in the weirdest **** too and she made POP music. Chappell's visual identity actually fits her music too. She's a breath a fresh air into the music scene right now. Isn't this site always complaining about how boring pop girls are and how they miss the 00s? If you want cute/sexy/boring outfits, you still have Sabrina (nothing against her). Edited August 13 by State of Grace. 2
Verandi Posted August 13 Posted August 13 (edited) Why does the music need to be directly tied to the physical style? I think what's so refreshing about Chappel is that she makes fun music and also has fun with the way she dresses. Not everything has to be part of some super calculated branding identity campaign that screams manufactured. Edited August 13 by Verandi

halcyonday Posted August 13 Posted August 13 (edited) She released her EP in like what... 2017? But no one cared, because she was just like anyone else. Then she started wearing colorful things and suddenly became popular. It's pretty simple - if you stand out it's easier to achieve success. Edited August 13 by halcyonday 1
