Popular Post SharGaga Posted August 12 Popular Post Posted August 12 Why is she so afraid to do anything other than generic sanitized pop music with overprocessed vocals after the first album? That's the real question. I guess it's a question of real talent and vision or lack there of. 28 2

theoghon Posted August 12 Posted August 12 (edited) Katherine seems so hopelessly out of touch, in a way that's unsalvagable given that ALL STANBASES were lined up to see her succeed in '24, all she + ha team needed was to really tap into her 2010-11 pop sensibilities part of me strongly believes the dr. Luke backlash would be non-existent if the material was goodT - i REMEMBER seeing sentiments of the sort floating around on ATRL & stan twitter Can the good sis/girlie re-centre & deliver? That's the real question. I guess it's a question of real talent and vision or lack there of. Because she does not have the grit, courage and talent to cultivate sounds and lyricism on her own that do not resort to tackiness, cringe and trite concepts. Bonnie McKee was the mastermind behind her good songs, the interviews prove this. We know it was her bringing the ideas to the table as Bonnie's own work is blossoming with solid songwriting. The fact that Katy went back to Dr. Luke and ended up creating abysmal music with him tells me everything. You could argue Max Martin was also a huge pillar in what made her music good but his production on the singles from Witness were lackluster. She needs a Bonnie to help her strengthen concepts and ideas. OT: He is right, especially about the irony of "Woman's World". The new single is pretty much what I picture people say when they ask who is emblematic of making faceless playlist fodder. 11

Park Jinyoung Posted August 12 Posted August 12 It has been studied already. Please check the syllabus. 4 5
Lamb4life Posted August 12 Posted August 12 What is there to study? At her peak, she made radio fodder music and refused to evolve into an artist with more substance. It has happened 100 times before. She ain't special. 10 2 2
blueberries Posted August 12 Posted August 12 she was a gp artist and had no real fans it happened many times before and it'll happen again with dua lipa and sabrina carpenter
Dula Peep Posted August 12 Posted August 12 The new music really is just shockingly bad given her previous track record of singles
itsnotaegg Posted August 12 Posted August 12 She needs to drop dr.puke, go back to the drawing board, comeback in a few years and actually put effort in her artistry because she needs actual good music and especially good singles to succeed! Women's world was a very poor attempt at a big comeback and lifetimes is a cute summer pop, but it won't do anything for her. I just personally think she makes bad decisions, her hubris for supposedly thinking that dr.luke was in any way an acceptable work partner is actually the part that needs to be studied
ericcartman Posted August 12 Posted August 12 There is nothing to be studied. She wasn't the first pop start to fall off after a couple of successful albums, and she won't be the last. Tale as old as time.

As we watch Bonnie rollout Hot City and give more interviews, it's clear that she was the mastermind behind the concept of Teenage Dream and all of Katy's best work. Bonnie was the key songwriter, Max Martin was the melodic master, and Luke was the production genius. THEY are really "Katy Perry." 8 2 1
