ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted August 11 ATRL Moderator Posted August 11 I'm sorry I love the album version but this (especially the second half) is INSANE
suburbannature Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) A tad shouty. The Trouble with Love Is is her best vocal performance, IMO. I know she has talked about her preference for singing pop rock (despite her primary influences being R&B/soul), but I think her voice is much more in its element when she goes the R&B route. Yeah I can see how it comes across shouty, it's a demo and she toned it down a good bit for the album version (a lot of those big belts are in the final version, just pushed to the background and mixed in with the instrumental) but I think it had a lot of potential to be cooler than the final product. I'd love a re-recording of The Trouble With Love Is, she sounds amazing on the original but her voice has gotten so much richer when it comes to soulful stuff and I think she'd pull it off better now. I honestly think that overall, some of her best studio vocals are me and goodbye But I'm a sucker for big belted notes and obsessed with this new demo version of Honestly for that reason, the constant sustained G5s I don't think she's ever said she prefers singing pop/rock, has she? If anything I think she's talked about the more soulful stuff being more at home for her
Tylerbv Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I always thought her live Tightrope from the PxP extended cut was top tier Or All I Ask of You with Josh Groban 1

Onyxmage Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) I was ready to say no but I have to say well.... YES! I love this song. Its definitely one of my favorites by Miss Clarkson. The way I used to belt this out out of tune in my car. Edited August 11 by Onyxmage
BrokenMachine Posted August 11 Posted August 11 The album version has way better vocals than this, and also the whistle. Still, the instrumental sounds amazing
allforyou Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I love this song so much The best non-single from Stronger

stoopidjenna Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Wait I like this way more than the album version. Her vocals are so clear.
Princess Aurora Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Yes. It's a shame it wasn't included in the album version

But yeah, just searched and found this recent video that filters the note... and sounds like the G5 of the demo

I mean, she *was* eating those though! 1
