4th Time Around Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) Chromatica is a decent album that could have been a great one. Gaga has been open about the fact she was disengaged during the studio process and it really comes across in the final product because something is missing. It's a Gaga album that does not feel like one and lacks that special spark that can only come when she is creatively inspired I have much higher hopes for LG7 because she has been acting a lot more like her old self again lately and seems to be glowing and in a good place creatively Edited August 11 by 4th Time Around 1
Breakdown Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) If anything Ms Ga Ga owes us an apology. Edited August 11 by Breakdown
Erreur2 La Nature Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Never thought it was a bad album but it's nothing special either. It has a few tracks that I enjoy like Replay or 911 that both feel like the old Gaga to me which I appreciate. No apology or flowers, it was a step in the right direction compared to Artpop/Joanne but she still has room to improve and I hope she will really deliver on the next album. I am tired of seeing her calling big names for collaborations though and I read yesterday that she is about to release with Bruno Mars, don't know if true.

The songwriting was really good, her vocals sounded fantastic and the visuals/concept were on point. The main thing that let it down was the production....which was watered down and probably the most "on trend" she's ever sounded. She talked about how she was in such a bad place mentally, she basically had to be dragged into the studio and I guess she just let it all out in the lyrics/vocals but didn't get quite as involved in the production as she normally does, and it shows. The demos (Free Woman mainly) hinted at something much better with a little more edge, and it's a shame that the final product was watered down. The remix album shows a lot of where the album could have gone...the crazy, balls to the wall energy really gives the whole thing an extra spark. So yeah, it's a solid album! Not her best work but there's nothing bad on it. This is on point. Signs are pointing to her being a lot more involved in the creation of this next album luckily!

Jay07 Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) I wish Boys Noize was part of the production team instead of BloodPop. This is his latest track and it bangs. He could have given Chromatica the edge it is missing Edited August 11 by Jay07

"Big names for collaboration" you can literally count them in one hand, whereas you have other artists with tens of them… The Liddos wish she did more collabs, but I guess it's also strategic that she isn't doing it as much, considering ALL of her major collabs are EVENTS and people love seeing her shine WITH other great artists. ThousandMiles Posted August 11 Posted August 11 the first half is acceptable, but the second half is gutter trash, so no
MadMax12 Posted August 11 Posted August 11 It's a solid album, I just wish the production wasn't so compressed and watered down. But that was down to Bloodpop, she served vocally and lyrically
Doogle Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) It's a good album and always has been lmao. It's not early 2010s Lady Gaga TFM/BTW but it's considerably better than ARTPOP and Joanne. Replay alone whewww Most of it just needed slightly better production like Free Woman getting so nerfed. Edited August 11 by Doogle
Sugar-Rush Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Tbh I've only ever seen folks drag the album on here, which says a lot.
xxxlamb Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I think it just gets hate because it's first impression/first single is trash
Erotic Posted August 11 Posted August 11 It's a fabulous gym / club album. The couch potatoes must rightfully hate it. 1
John Slayne Posted August 11 Posted August 11 it's decent both quality-wise and success-wise... not her best, not her worst. it's very much in the middle for me when it comes to her discography.
