mercurialworld Posted August 10 Posted August 10 What songs do you listen to and think "almost perfect... but something is missing"? What exactly is missing? For example, "Work" by Rihanna is missing a strong bridge, "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga is missing a heavier bassline, and "Woman's World" by Katy Perry is missing female empowerment.
EnigmaticAndroid Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Free Kyogo is missing the demo's bridge and punchier production 1

AshleyLovescats887 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 'LIFETIMES'. More than 1 verse would be appreciated in a song 4

Erreur2 La Nature Posted August 10 Posted August 10 The first song that comes to my mind is Dua Lipa's "Training Season". I LOVE it, it's a bop and I would rate it 8.5/10 but something is missing to make it as fantastic as it should have been. Maybe it lacks something in the pre-chorus to elevate the song. The chorus also misses some punch in the instrumental to go even harder ! 1
zoldyck Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Mark Ronson ft Camila - Find U Again A good vocalist that could do justice to its lyrics and production 1

I don't care that Lykke Li was already on Late Night Feelings, she would've slam-dunked that song too. Just bring her back to record another one, who cares.
aotwbys Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Fortnight, could have used an additional post-chorus or more Post Malone somewhere in there 1

Sheep Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I was never able to get into Ava Max because of this exact feeling. 1
suburbannature Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Love by Lana. It needed a bit extra "oomph" in the production. Can't wait for the day that she fully embraces electric guitars again 1 1
BANKS Posted August 10 Posted August 10 wait this might be problematic for some, but.. Goddess by Banks… almost the entire album. it was her first album and all the songs are so good. but production-wise they feel hallow, like demos, to me. if she made that album now, or even in 2016 when she was more established, the production and quality would've been so much better.
Zachbbs Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Every Taylor Swift song in existence feels like its missing artistic insight and emotion. 1 1

The chorus also misses some punch in the instrumental to go even harder ! The post-chorus is sweeter than the actual chorus and pre-chorus, which feels weird. Normally you wsnt to hear the chorus over and over again. And the last chorus isn't adding much in the production and is also cut short, making it sound rushed and imbalanced overall. This is why still prefer Houdini, cause there's a progression towards a climax. 1
Paddy Posted August 10 Posted August 10 current feeling aside. I always liked Pendulum by Katy, but I always feel like there is something missing, like the idea was unfinished and they didn't know what to do or just rushed it. 1
attention Posted August 10 Posted August 10 not a fan of songs w/o a singing chorus or an instrumental drop chorus. be alright - ariana and even stupid love - gaga come to mind cause they feel lackluster
YourFavoriteWeapon Posted August 10 Posted August 10 (edited) I feel like there is a great song in here but the vocal mixing is horrendous and the bridge is so lazy. Edited August 10 by YourFavoriteWeapon
simplywohoo Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Dope by lady Gaga would be PERECT if they just deleted it tbh It would also make the album perfect 3
Outlaws Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Free Woman and Fun Tonight feel so bland. The FW demo was SO good compared to that thing we got. 1
UrMom Posted August 10 Posted August 10 A bigger and catchier chorus would elevate this song from a 7/10 to a 12/10.
smartalek22 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 (edited) Lifetimes could've really been elevated with a long in-depth bridge and a stronger final chorus Edited August 10 by smartalek22
