Why is ATRL obsessed with hating on Katy Perry?

Stans live vicariously through their faves, so when people see Gaga or Taylor Swift killing it, they internalise it as their own personal success.

They also live vicariously through the failures of their fave's former competition, so "enjoying" Katy's downfall is like watching someone you hate struggle, whilst "you" (aka your fave) thrive.

At the end of the day, these people are billionaires and half-billionaires. They live lives that we can only dream of, so I doubt they're too bothered.

If a song underperformed, it would be pretty easy to be like, "that's disappointing. Let's rent a beachfront mansion in the south of France for a month. I could use a holiday."

When the rest of us have a bad day at work, we just go to sleep, wake up, and do it all over again whilst barely scraping by.

Probably because she banks off fake feminism while working with an alleged rapist?

This site mostly attracts a certain demographic of catty gays, you look at the majority type of members in this forum and you realize that those kind of people have always had a history of hating on Katy, whether it be their own projection, or as people who take stan culture way too seriously and take her as this mortal enemy popstar just because she's had "feuds" or "rivalry" with other popstars they stan. The doctor luke producing credits thing is just another excuse which acted as a perfect weapon to justify their hate.

I know this will come up as a shock to you but some people in here REALLY don't like r*pists. This idea that hating her for working with him is an "excuse" is beyond disgusting

That's not shocking to me. But this might come as a shock to you that most people hating on her with the luke excuse have always hated on her. I don't get how my post's point just flew over your head but whatever idc.

ATRL always seems to have a new punching bag - Normani and Camila were the targets for the past six years, and now they've moved on to Katy. I can't help but let out a sigh of relief

There's nothing risky about working with a with credible rape/SA allegations. All of our favs have done it and will likely continue to do it. Hollywood runs on powerful men doing whatever they want.

The thing about Katy specifically is that anyone with half a brain cell could have seen this hate/backlash/flipping coming.

Even if the songs were good, she should have known that "Katy Perry runs back to abusive producer to save her career" would have been the angle everyone ran with. She is not an artist who has earned the benefit of the doubt from the media the way other MPGs have.

The reception to the snippets of WW was horrible.

Still, she and her team marched on and released this anyway.

I'm not really emotionally invested in Katy enough to take part in a "hate train" but when you play stupid games you win stupid prizes, and anyone that didn't see this coming is a bit dense.

It's not surprising every gay is dragging Katy for something we all saw coming.

In all honesty, all tea no shade, Katy has always been a mid-artist.

Aside from the whole Dr. Luke drama, her discography has always been poorly rated and her songs have never been the most profound, original or impactful tbh.

The only thing that's happening right now is that the world isn't buying into her cheap pop anymore and that's normal. Trends go away with time.

She should relax and embrace that or try and do something ACTUALLY different (for once).

The best work she's ever done quality-wise was on the deep cuts of PRISM and tbh she wasn't trying to be woke or some stupid **** like that, she was just being herself and it served quality because she wasn't being pretentious.
