Why is ATRL obsessed with hating on Katy Perry?

Recommended Posts

1. She's 39 and a mother and is trying to make a pop music comeback in an industry that is notoriously ageist :coffee2:

2. She took big risks with 143, releasing two solo singles produced by an unpopular producer that sound nothing like the current top 20 on billboard. She didn't have a famous KPOP girl group, a movie or a young popular female pop star to rely on unlike others :foxaylove2:

3. Teenage Dream is still out-streaming most of ATRL's fave's albums (some of which are barely scraping 1 million daily streams despite being released this year):gayoncecat3:

For someone who is allegedly 'over', according to homosexuals on a pop music forum, she sure seems to attract a lot of attention :doc:

But as Katy herself said, karma keeps receipts. So trust that we will be watching like a hawk when some y'all faves release their future albums and any sign of floppage will be ruthlessly addressed :gaygacat1:

It's not a big risk to work with Dr Puke, it's just a completely stupid and offensive decision. Especially considering the material isn't even close to good.

It actually is. She chose to work with a producer knowing that she could get potential backlash. Did the risk pay off? We will see with 143 but artists have to take risks sometimes. And the material not being good is subjective.

It's funny how you coyly omitted the fact that she willingly worked with a rapist

Lady Gaga does too, why isn't she receiving the same hate?

This site mostly attracts a certain demographic of catty gays, you look at the majority type of members in this forum and you realize that those kind of people have always had a history of hating on Katy, whether it be their own projection, or as people who take stan culture way too seriously and take her as this mortal enemy popstar just because she's had "feuds" or "rivalry" with other popstars they stan. The doctor luke producing credits thing is just another excuse which acted as a perfect weapon to justify their hate.

Preach it sis! They pick and choose when to apply their purity tests. It's absolutely vile. :doc:

She needs to try harder

Why didn't she have those things? Nobody wanted her in their movie? No young star or kpop group wanted to work with her?

Her greatest hits album full of hits from when she was popular? What will her new album be scraping?

ATRL loves a flop, a punching bag. Don't take it personally, it's just her turn.

This is a site about corporate pop music, specifically from female artists. One of the biggest female artists in that realm is shitting the bed on all fronts and you don't want anyone to discuss it here? :rip:

Every single artist on here gets dragged and strays, this is pretty normal as Katy is currently very hated AND controversial AND popular AND we get more news about her almost every week, so this is literally a goldmine, or a DRAGmine.

Are the big risks in the room with us?

"Unpopular producer"  - he's a freaking r****t

"Sound nothing like current top 20 on billboard" - well because they sound like songs that should've come out a long time ago - WW sounds like something from 2019 & Lifetimes sounds like something from 2015-2016, so both are dated

:bibliahh: Well, yeah, karma keep receipts and it literally nosedived Katy's career after that lyric was released

So do hundreds of people in the industry, yet no one else has been put through the moral judgement  as much and has had half of hate that Katy has received for her professional decision.
