IBeMe Posted August 8 Posted August 8 It feels like a lot of Katy Kats are putting a lot of stock and hope in Lifetimes chart performance. Many have expressed that it will be her make or break moment for this era (as she has had many others throughout the second half of her career). Do you feel the stan pressure for her to do well with this single and what are your realistic expectations for this songs chart performance. What would make you happy and satisfied as a stan?
MerveAksak Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I think they already gave up on commercial or critical success and just trying to play it cool like: "let's enjoy the music and ignore the negativity, we missed her so much 143" Spoiler so basically this: 11
thinking Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Her sharts on a mic would be better than the music shes releasing atp
Red Velvet Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Any good will or hype was spent with womans world and we know how that went
BANKS Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) am i "scared"? no, bc even tho i absolutely love pop culture and music i'm not that invested. however, i wish her the best. happy for her if she succeeds, unbothered if she doesn't. regardless, i'll stream the song regularly if i like it. punisher Posted August 8 Posted August 8 at this point katykats should just hope for a good album its not giving that though
Breakdown Posted August 8 Posted August 8 no, i've accepted that she's commercially over, at least when it comes to the performance of current material, not talking about legacy, touring or other business endeavors. i'm just grateful she's still doing what she's doing, releasing music, putting in effort in everything. i love her. 5
Vegvisir Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Well, I guess that's it for this thread! All of her remaining fans have answered OP's question 4
ScorpiosGroove Posted August 8 Posted August 8 scared of what, flopping ? you'd think they'd be used to it by now 2
JO1s Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Katy kats have been used to flops for 6 years, idk why they would be scared by another one.
orange22 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I think it can be a radio/retail/bar type sleeper hit but WW shat all over the era I fear

JustHoran Posted August 8 Posted August 8 It's still crazy to me how hard she fell off. I use to be a Katy fan, but not so much anymore. The music hasn't been good in a while, the last album of hers I bought was Smile. TBH, I think they know she's not going to be a MPG anymore.
Smarticle Posted August 8 Posted August 8 They also put a lot of stock and hope into the Dr Luke comeback single and we saw what happened 1
R.E.M. Posted August 8 Posted August 8 people who get "scared" by the prospect of their fav flopping are extremely concerning individuals no one in the real world actually cares about numbers or #1s. Implying that Kats specifically are scared that Katy will flop is especially comical considering Katy has been flopping for nearly a decade. Any remaining fans obviously aren't stanning because they expect numbers from the (first) Obama administration - they clearly like her "brand" of pop music and enjoy the nostalgia from her big hits. 3
