The problem is being a radical right winger or Trump Supporter. My parents, for example, are what you would call a republican in my country, but they didn't vote for the far right candidates because they don't represent their views. They actually voted left because it was the only viable option against the absurd **** the other candidate was preaching. This. Thank you very much for saying this The Republican Party/GOP needs to clean itself up from Trumpism and all those radicals that enabled this mess

Princess Aurora Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) I know Kelly Clarkson was a Republican Edited August 8 by Princess Aurora

Genius1111 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Kelly Clarkson is from the Dallas area and she most certainly voted George Bush Jr in 2000 and 2004 and Republican for the state/local races, I would presume. But of course, after that, she realized how crappy they were and only voted Dem since 2008. She did think Ron Paul was "good" back in 2011/2012 but it was silly of her to verbalize it. She has also said nice things about Hillary and Bernie in 2016 and she interviewed Jill Biden on TKCS in 2021 iirc. She's a centrist Dem now, I would suppose. 1
Trent W Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Beyonce was definitely republican pre-Obama era But honestly back then I don't think it was a bad thing necessarily Ever since Trump is when things got a lot darker with Repulsivecans
Virgos Groove Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I can see a few of them secretely voting for Trump for tax reasons. And I'm not saying Taylor voted for Mitt Romney in 2012, but I also wouldn't be surprised if she did. But it'd be more interesting to discuss the older pop girls, since voting Republican was less of a brand-killer back in the day.
wastedpotential Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) ddd the Taylor AI edits and yet I can say that with almost certainty (unless she particularly liked Mitt Romney) she's voted for a Democrat in every election since her first in 2008 Edited August 8 by wastedpotential 2
TeemoR Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I can see Beyonce being republican at some point. Obviously Taylor, Katy.
Edonis Posted August 8 Posted August 8 nnn not the revisionism going on in this thread about republicans in the early 2000s. they were TRASH then and they're still TRASH now, the only difference is that trash has decomposed more than ever. get serious!!! 1
Rhythm Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) 3 hours ago, ScorpiosGroove said: you have to be a different kind of slow to think beyoncé would vote republican, ESPECIALLY in the early 2000s Beyoncé herself admitted she was a registered Republican and she endorsed Bush several times. That's not a damnable fact. She was a young voter and her parents were both registered Republicans, as well. A lot of the political ideologies weren't the same then as they may be now. JoeAg Posted August 9 Posted August 9 I think Kelly may have voted republican in 2004 and/or 2008, and I know that in 2012 she voted for Ron Paul (even though he's flip flopped a bunch between republican and libertarian from what I remember lol) but I think 2016 changed her tune, and I think her republican days are in the past
GraceRandolph Posted August 9 Posted August 9 15 hours ago, Bosque said: At least on a local level (not federal elections) I think most of them have at some point in their lives... most likely Beyoncé, Gaga, Katy Perry, Lana, Britney... most people don't vote for the same party in every election of their lives. For some reason I can imagine Christina Aguilera only ever voting for dems Are you American? Most Americans are fairly partisan.
