Lagerfeld Posted August 8 Posted August 8 It looks like Katy Perry's latest era of "143" is absolutely bombing on all metrics. Is there a way for it to be saved?
itshyolee Posted August 8 Posted August 8 The only way for it to be saved is if she scraps the project and makes up some kind of excuse as to why it's not being released anymore
Katy.Kat.23 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Not unless a song organically goes viral on tik tok, stranger things have happened
KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 8 Posted August 8 hope is a dangerous thing for a katycat like me to have - but I have it 8
Mordecai Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I think the damage has been done unfortunately. She needs to release it according to plan and quickly move on to the next one... which by Katy's standards will be in 2028
PoisonedIvy Posted August 8 Posted August 8 As the main character of ATRL, my primary job is to instill you all with hope even when there is none. Unfortunately that is asking too much of me. Heaven would have to part the skies and move the mountains for Katy's newest era to succeed. Good luck, Katy fans. My heart goes out to you! 6
Bosque Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I'm pretty sure most people haven't noticed or already forgotten about Woman's World so there is always a chance if she releases a banger. However, it's already hard for her due to ageism + long string of radio flops, so the music would have to be truly immaculae
ChooseyLover Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I believe the tour could do well. That has to count for something.
TouchinFree Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Honestly NO. It's like beating a dead horse. She either continues making music but changes directions and genres COMPLETELY. Or she can continue doing what she still does and tarnish what she'd built as a pop icon in previous years. If you'd told me in 2011 that Katy will be barely charting with a LEAD single. I would've thought you're NUTS. Like how did she fall this hard? Not even Xtina fell thus hard.
justlore Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Gimme, Gimme could pull some cute numbers and "save" the era, but idkkkk... I think it's too late!
Blackout2006 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I honestly feel it still does 💀🤡 (Katy CLOWN indeed). I think WW was so bad most people have chosen to forget about it but I think Lifetimes sounds pretty promising and if promoted correctly, it can smash.
alexrex Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I think we can stay optimistic. Everything is possible and this era could bounce back and be a total success. She has the black hair, the body, the bops... Spoiler Of course not Spoiler RIP 143 3
JustHoran Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) If an album ever needed to be shelved, it's this one. If this was years ago this album literally wouldn't be released lol. Many artists back then would get (way better) albums shelved with no hits or if labels thought it wouldn't sell. Edited August 8 by JustHoran

It's still a Dr. Luke song though, so good luck to her. 1
Sad Beautiful Tragic Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Honestly, it seems like this era can't be salvaged. Katy is seen as a bit of a joke by the general public. To be honest, new releases from Katy, Gaga, or Pink are likely to struggle commercially. The only artists who seem to consistently avoid this fate are Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, and Adele to a lesser extent.
dzwiekolubny Posted August 8 Posted August 8 i don't think she will have a successful single but i'm curious if people will buy tickets for the tour ngl
Young In Love Posted August 8 Posted August 8 there isn't any hope for Katy unfortunately, if she was smart she would've shelved the era after the WW's snippet reception...
Jooj Posted August 8 Posted August 8 No, Woman's World killed her momentum. The whole era is a "threads ruined by one post" tea 1
Bimbo Posted August 8 Posted August 8 That would require a functioning brain cell and I'm afraid there's none there.
Uncatena Posted August 8 Posted August 8 no, the GP is obviously tired of her shenanigans, the music is flopping both commercially and critically AND there is 0 hype for the album, era or her. its dead in the water. I think the tour might do well, if she promotes it like a greatest hits tour.
