Mighty Oaks Posted August 7 Posted August 7 A certain member in here really said downvoting you was red! 2
JennyWayne Posted August 7 Posted August 7 I mean it's 2024. Winning a VMA is as prestigious as winning a Kids Choice Awards at this point 1
Asparagus Spears Posted August 7 Posted August 7 While I agree that it's a great video, seeing her sweep last year made the VMA's kinda boring. When there's just one winner going up on stage accepting awards it makes it boring for the viewers. I think espresso has a good chance of taking video of the year but it'll probably go to Taylor 1

I think espresso has a good chance of taking video of the year but it'll probably go to Taylor Well, it's fan voted award show. It's not Taylor & the swifties' fault the other fandoms didn't vote for their faves It's boring because none of the current MPGs are actually trying to build a fanbase. They only rely on the gp which will not vote like stans do. Only Taylor currently has a solid base & the kpop artists so… Edited August 7 by TayDuaStan 1
wastedpotential Posted August 7 Posted August 7 I guess I might be more inclined to agree with some of the sentiments of unfairness if there were other super credible videos that didn't get nominated, but other than like Espresso or Not Like Us, I don't think anything huge is missing from the VOTY noms, and neither of those videos would've won a fan-voted award. Despite what some of y'all are inclined to believe despite not having seen the video, Fortnight is well done and is high quality and isn't meritless. Of the other open-vote categories it's nominated in are either quite competitive (SOTY, Pop), or have basically no other qualified nominees (Collaboration). The professional categories are always a mystery, but I think it makes a compelling case for visual effects and cinematography, and the editing/direction awards are truly subjective here. As per usual, I could see her winning a large number in an effort from the show producers to get her to show up, but it's not like she'll be robbing an S-tier video by taking the best Collaboration award away from *checks notes* Rich Baby Daddy by Drake/Sexyy Red/SZA, Wanna Be by GloRilla/Meg, Wild Ones by Jess Murph/Jelly Roll (?), Seven by Jungkook/Latto, or I Had Some Help by Post/Morgan. 1

judasmonster Posted August 7 Posted August 7 how boring, when you think of amazing music videos this year this is not the first thing in peoples mind. the VMAs just keep losing their relevance each year
Trent W Posted August 7 Posted August 7 This video and song deserve all the flowers, its a great track and video, one of her best At one point I wonder if she or the vmas are going stop awarding her because it's become too repetitive She's been sweeping for 3-4 years in a row You can already tell how the night will go considering it's fan voted
Folklore89sm Posted August 7 Posted August 7 I'm fairly lukewarm on TTPD and even the song itself I'm not crazy about, but the video is excellent.
