Its been 7 years since the reputation era when she rebooted her insta and disabled the insta comments. It seems that the stick of arrogance is still stuck up her derreire since then. Why doesnt she like free speech on her platform? Discuss.

If I was a celeb I probably wouldn't have them on either, and Britney turned her comments off a while ago too. No one needs that negativity from trolls.

I believe she once said in an interview that she didn't want to read someone tell her to "die in a hole, hoe" at 9 in the morning, and therefore has kept them off except for that one pre-Rep tour post with Charli and Camila where she forgot that randomly became her most liked picture for several years because the interactions boosted it in the Instagram algorithm

This take is not only remedial but exactly the kind of brain rot she most likely doesn't want polluting her comments section. She makes her posts, and if people wish to discuss them in more detail they can go somewhere else.

It is probably her personal preference not to have comments enabled which I don't see anything wrong with because there are so many weirdos on the internet

Are you kidding me? Have you MET the internet?  If I ever gained ANY semblance of public notoriety, my comments would be eternally disabled too. The soulless indecency people feel empowered enough to spew from behind the anonymity of a 14 inch display monitor is utterly vile. No one should have to be subjected to that.

I may not enjoy her that much as a person but people are weird. And I don't think anyone deserves to read insane comments from obsessed individuals.

Artists primarily use social media platforms (in particular IG) to promote and sell product, pure and simple.
 

If an artist can avoid a groundswell of negative commentary around the different components parts that together form their overall brand then they can actively mitigate, limit and ultimately control the level of potential negative commentary surrounding their brand identity, thus keeping their brand perception positive (to neutral) in status, therefore encouraging further sales.

 

Most artists don't do this which speaks to how determined Taylor is to maintain a positive brand perception. As Taylor was the architect of developing par-asocial relationships with her audience which actively encourages a heightened level of two way communication (between Artist and fan), turning off comments goes against the par-asocial relationship she has always had with her audience which indicates her PR strategy has now developed and she is now adopting a less personal approach.
