shimind Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Its been 7 years since the reputation era when she rebooted her insta and disabled the insta comments. It seems that the stick of arrogance is still stuck up her derreire since then. Why doesnt she like free speech on her platform? Discuss. 1
Brooklyn Baby Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Why would she or any other MPG subject themselves to having comments turned on? 5

Trent W Posted August 7 Posted August 7 I don't understand why other celebs have them on There is no point I think she's actually ahead of her time 6
JustHoran Posted August 7 Posted August 7 If I was a celeb I probably wouldn't have them on either, and Britney turned her comments off a while ago too. No one needs that negativity from trolls. 2 2
wastedpotential Posted August 7 Posted August 7 I believe she once said in an interview that she didn't want to read someone tell her to "die in a hole, hoe" at 9 in the morning, and therefore has kept them off except for that one pre-Rep tour post with Charli and Camila where she forgot that randomly became her most liked picture for several years because the interactions boosted it in the Instagram algorithm 2
Goaty Posted August 7 Posted August 7 45 minutes ago, shimind said: It seems that the stick of arrogance is still stuck up her derreire This take is not only remedial but exactly the kind of brain rot she most likely doesn't want polluting her comments section. She makes her posts, and if people wish to discuss them in more detail they can go somewhere else. 10
ThePopStop Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Because Stans and SJW's ruined it for everyone. She doesn't want to hear people telling her to make a public stance on Palestine or politics. Or commenting on made up beef. 1
Wonderland Posted August 7 Posted August 7 You must live a very pleasant and sheltered existence to not know why she wouldn't

brokee Posted August 7 Posted August 7 It is probably her personal preference not to have comments enabled which I don't see anything wrong with because there are so many weirdos on the internet
MusicLoverDude Posted August 7 Posted August 7 The fact that haters on here refer to her as Shitlor on Discord is more than enough reason to disable comments.
Sheep Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) Not a fan but she doesn't owe a comments section to anybody. Internet comments aren't a right, at least drag her for something real. Edited August 7 by Sheep
Quiqui4eva Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Disallowing what could very well be a cesspool of a comment section is arrogance?
PoisonedIvy Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) Are you kidding me? Have you MET the internet? If I ever gained ANY semblance of public notoriety, my comments would be eternally disabled too. The soulless indecency people feel empowered enough to spew from behind the anonymity of a 14 inch display monitor is utterly vile. No one should have to be subjected to that. Blackout2006 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 The internet was HARSH harsh to her in 2017; since then, Insta has only become more big, toxic, and unregulated. 1
cuteboyzay Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Ngl, I prefer celebs to have their comments OFF lmao! Do you see the amount of insane comments dumba** people leave on not only her posts but in general with every other celebrity? It's weird af. I may not enjoy her that much as a person but people are weird. And I don't think anyone deserves to read insane comments from obsessed individuals. 3
Bosque Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) I think your assessment is correct it's because she is a dictator who hates free speech. That seems most likely Edited August 7 by Bosque
Dante Silva Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Artists primarily use social media platforms (in particular IG) to promote and sell product, pure and simple. If an artist can avoid a groundswell of negative commentary around the different components parts that together form their overall brand then they can actively mitigate, limit and ultimately control the level of potential negative commentary surrounding their brand identity, thus keeping their brand perception positive (to neutral) in status, therefore encouraging further sales. Most artists don't do this which speaks to how determined Taylor is to maintain a positive brand perception. As Taylor was the architect of developing par-asocial relationships with her audience which actively encourages a heightened level of two way communication (between Artist and fan), turning off comments goes against the par-asocial relationship she has always had with her audience which indicates her PR strategy has now developed and she is now adopting a less personal approach.
HardBambi Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Good that she doesn't, she doesn't want to give a voice to the haters, at least not on her insta
